Hope none of you still own any meme stocks, I seriously predict a crash of them across the board on Monday.
Hyped about this video. I’ve had a morbid fascination with the entire GameStop delusion since it became obvious that the stock wasn’t going to do anything else (about 2 days after that one initial spike) but people started organizing themselves into a straight up cult. Listening to the language that these people use is especially interesting, because so much of it is borderline Marxist theory, the haves and the have nots, the system is rigged, etc., But instead of thinking in terms of real revolutionary action, they just want to play the magical internet game and win 100 Lamborghinis.
It’s an amazing subversion of a lot of people who would probably be real allies, and the strange thing is that it seems to have happened organically, save for a few shitheads like Ryan Cohen using it to their advantage.

I’m like halfway through it and I’ve gotta step away for a bit. It seems like the tl;dw is that it’s an example of a cult “when prophecy fails”
