Way back in the day, the ASUS 1005HA eee PCs were actually the perfect little hacker laptops. The WiFi cards they came with were capable of “promiscuous mode” which many WiFi hacking tools required. I still have two 1005HAs in my closet.
That’s what I used mine for as well, basically full linux support out of the box with Backtrack. Perfect timing since I was taking a computer security program at the time, and it was right at the tail end of people still using WEP.
