      By “lose the election,” they meant won the most votes but were unable to form a majority government. Only through other parties/people in power negotiating and allying with Hitler did the Nazis find themselves with some power that enabled them to seize total power.

      He was not a Nazi, but von Hindenburg decided he would rather align with the Nazi Party than allow anyone on the left influence over the government, which sounds a lot like today’s Republican Party.

      If parties on the left had won more votes, Hitler would not have been able to seize power in this way

      If you’re referring to Hitler coming to power, that wasn’t by a democratic vote but a most-likely staged fire at the Reichstag to scare the people, and Hindenburg, into swearing him into power.

      If I remember correctly but I’m not an expert on the matter of the 1932 election.
