You forgot the biggest change - Azrael as Batman during Knightfall. That went for quite a while.

I don’t know how it is in the games, but in the comics he was originally someone who lived in the same world as the old Spider-Man and took up the mantle. Peter Parker wasn’t replaced as a character, he was just dead.
and usually when they do it just feels like a half assed money grab stereotypical characters (looking at captain marvel vs something like Amanda Ripley)
