Do you think a shove, when they had both closed the gap and were chest bumping each other, is the same as a punch?

Legally it’s not the same though both can fall into the broad category of battery.

            Tut tut rule 1.

Both my parents loved me enough to teach me when to run my mouth, when to shut up and when to dodge.

I guess that girl wasn’t as lucky as me :)

If you put your hands on someone then they you don’t get to complain when they put their hands on you.

He initiated physical contact with assault.

She walked right into him, initiating physical contact, and got the expected result.

The only surprising thing here is the lack of WORLDSTAR being screeched at maximum volume but I guess the tik tok generation do it different.

      1. They weren’t “chest bumping”

      2. Closing a gap does not constitute battery

      3. Yes, once you put hands on me, I can punch you in the face. That’s the law. Under the law, and for good reason, her reaction is self defense.

      4. One person’s punch is not necessarily equivalent to another’s, as we saw in this incident. I mean, turns out she needed to have used a more serious form of self defense here. So it’s irrelevant whether it was a shove, a punch, a kick or whatever. He put hands on her first and she got the broken nose.
