All the other types of coffee are generally enjoyed, whereas drip coffee is basically just functional. And that function is to make workers slightly more productive. And widespread, widely normalized caffeine addiction is mainly a result of that. Someone saying “don’t talk to me until I’ve had my coffee” probably isn’t talking about an espresso.
Capitalists took something good and asked how they could make it as cheap as possible to extract maximal profits while also using it to their advantage, drip coffee was the answer.

I only have the trotskyist machine at home, but I also never use it and drink tea instead. But still, I have to defend drip coffee. I just kinda like it. Plus it’s super easy to make a lot and share
