minus-squareSeraphlinkfedilink1•edit-21 year agoLemmy doesn’t auto vote for your own comment/post. We aren’t that narcistic here. Every comment starts at 0. I can see on Kbin who upvoted even, and you didn’t upvote your comment. Edit: I’ve learned it varies by your portal!
minus-squareCodexlinkfedilink12•1 year agoEvery Lemmy app I’ve used on Android auto-up-votes one’s own posts and comments. Mainly been using Sync and Voyager. I haven’t seen an easy way in them to see who did the votes, but I do assume that’s available info to some clients.
minus-square@[email protected]linkfedilink27•edit-21 year agoLemmy does, Kbin doesn’t. Lemmy also gives your Kbin comments an upvote. On Kbin you can’t see the auto upvote or any downvotes IIRC.
minus-square@[email protected]linkfedilinkEnglish1•1 year agoHow are we to know you didn’t just upvote yourself after posting?
minus-square@[email protected]linkfedilink33•1 year agoYes. I think it is a conflict of interest to upvote my own post. Of course I think I contribute to the conversation, but that is not for me to decide.
minus-square@[email protected]linkfedilink1•1 year agoYou downvote the default score in order not to do something you never did?
minus-square@[email protected]linkfedilinkEnglish21•1 year agoEverybody’s vote total is defaulted to 1. Nobody upvotes themselves. Removing your vote just makes it less likely people will see your comment.
minus-square@[email protected]linkfedilink1•1 year agoEveryone’s posts are upvoted by themselves by default, so by retiring your upvotes from your posts, you are, in practice, removing visibility from your posts, thus handicapping them, rather than giving them a fair shot.

Yes it does. Observe.

I remove the upvote, not downvote.

I rely on the Gs who sort by new.
Maybe they’re just not very confident about their posts.
