    I notice half of lemmy matches up with my rss reader on most days.

    yeah, but i am not interested in half of your rss feed. i expect you to share something when it is really extraordinary. and there simply is not 20 such things per day. at that point, you are just a spammer. you don’t create content, you are diluting it by pouring weak sauce all over it.

    and that is exactly why the “mark as bot” option is there. if you are interested in such low effort content, that is fine. if i am not, it allows me to avoid it.

    You could block them but instead you choose to attach. Why?

    i chose to attach my opinion to initiate discussion on the problem and potentially improve things.
