All I remember from that movie is the part from the cat being kicked out of the house and vaguely what follows. Had no idea there was a whole plot before it.

they blamed the cat for their daughters disease because of an old folk tale about cat’s stealing your breath, but there was actually a gremlin thing that the cat was protecting her from.
