Like this? It’s not working. I want water. Not just breeze and shade.

Hmm, divine intervention just doesn’t seem to be working today. Maybe the gods have the day off too?

OK, I’m going to try extreme measures. I’ll water the garden. If that doesn’t work, someone needs to wash their car.

My car does need washing. I’m hoping I could ask the gods to do that tomorrow. Either way I just showered and I will not sweat anymore today.

The Spear Lily flowers are starting to open. Was hoping to get a high stalk but that didn’t happen.

Excuse my dumb ass but I’m filling a hole in the door and this is my filling so far. Do I leave it to dry now for a few hours and come back to paint it? Do I need to fill more putty in there?

    Hole for reference

I’d leave it to dry (still looks damp) and give it a bit of a sanddpaper back before you paint.

You gotta sand that before painting. That’s rough as at the moment. It might take letting it harden, sanding, re-fill, sand again, then paint. You could take the pins out of the hinges if you had somewhere else to paint the door.

I did sand it before filing in the putty, but if it still feels rough then I’ll re-fill and paint again. Don’t have more space to pain the door elsewhere unfortunately so this will have to do I guess.

Yo that’s fantastic. If that filler is still wet , take all that excess off around the hole. It will be a pain in the arse to sand when it’s dry and by the looks of it, you’ll need a top coat of filler anyway.

Got some of it but there’s still a small layer on the side, hopefully not an issue to sand it out. By a top coat of filler, do you mean another layer of putty on top of this one, wait till dry, sand again and then paint?

This morning I broke my record for quickest commute to work ever, including during the harshest lockdowns. It’s like the apocalypse happened overnight. 40 minutes door to door. Wish the roads were like this every day.

Gosh my TR expires late 2025 and I have to get started on the PR process. Not sure where to start, and every fkn agent wants like $300 for a 30 mins consult. sigh

[Unfortunately my work won’t sponsor my visa, i’ll have to either find my own way or find another company that will, but at this stage i really don’t want to leave my company as it’s a really good one]

Been staving off the tiredness with chores for most of today, busy doing some laundry, unpacking, washing the coffee grinder, sticking up command hooks, and mopping the house like it’s never been mopped before (the mops got two rounds of machine washing and line drying to get the dirt completely out).

I confess over winter I’ve neglected mopping for far too long because I was wearing slippers the whole time - and I HATE mopping with the microfibre finger thing tho it does a good job when you do squeeze it out properly. There’s areas that might need a fifth go over tomorrow because they still feel oddly sticky. The house definitely feels energetically (?) lighter and better now though. I have one of those spray mops now to (hopefully) make regular mopping easier.

Reheated my defrosted dinner, g&t is made, kicking back for the evening and then catching up on sleep. Don’t like overnight flights for this reason…

The ePassport queues at MEL appear to be fuxxored. Massive queues, almost no officials… poo.

Public holiday rates not enough to staff the joint adequately I suspect. (Cries internally in comparison to the efficiency of Changi.)

E: okay it looks like they’re in the middle of upgrading the gates and it’s progressing at q snails pace…

E2: I got in the one queue where the kiosk broke down lmao

E3: it’s broken down twice now and there is a constant stream of confused passengers who don’t know where they’re supposed to go

E4: the machines keep breaking down lmao this is the worst entry experience I’ve ever had in Australia 🥲

Went for a drive down the coast from Port Melbourne down to Mordialloc. First time opening my sunroof, it was quite pleasant! I haven’t had a car with a sunroof for over 20 years. They’re definitely higher quality now than they used to be!

Yay I finally got to see some lightning! I thought everyone else got all the fun and I missed out. No rain here though. I think we may have gotten half a sprinkle earlier.

Edit: I’ve found a pattern with my loud downstairs neighbour. She consistently fires up whenever there’s some kind of weather event and as someone who also digs weather events, I can respect that. Been at it for almost an hour now off and on.

We only got light showers til we took the dog out for a walk after dinner. Then it rained so hard that water ran down us and pooled in our shoes.

When I was a kid and used to have sleepovers with friends one our favourite things were staying up late and watching lightning when it happened as we told stories all night. E

For some reason lightning was super cool and we had the best time when the sky was flashing and the thundering booming every now and again.

      Ahhh fond memories.
