Especially since Rockstar will probably hyper focus on online multi and milking the whales, and give a shitty single player experience again.
I think they are totally planning on adding the new map to GTA Online. Just like in Vice City you visited the original GTA 3 map.

I think the point is - it’s disappointing to see GTA 5 2.0. I expected something more, something different, less generic, not just another coastal city or a GTA 5 clone. It seems like they just merged the engine update with GTA 5. Watching the trailer bored me, like being forced to watch a mediocre action comedy movie. I don’t know how the majority of the game will feel, but this trailer is just so generic. If this were a movie, no one would care. Maybe that’s the point, but still, my hype is somewhat gone. I at least expected a different scenario than this GTA 5 DLC story or at least set it somewhere other than a coastal city.

They did leave a lot of stuff for online only, never even updating things in singleplayer.
I’d argue I got my 60usd worth of content out of the single player. I can understand they focused on MP for further content.
Considering the going rate for games anymore seems to be 10 hours of game play for 60 dollars, I can believe you on that comment at least.

(rdr2 campaign was also more than 10h, to name a recentish Rockstar game) . Many other big AAA titles aside from cod also have campaigns that last longer than 10h.

The fact that they got the twerk animation to be so realistic gives me confidence that they’re raising the bar and putting in the work on this game. Also every rule 34 modder is gonna take full advantage of this

On the side note, it seems like the story of the game is going to go around treachery again.
It’s Bonnie and Clyde. Bonnie and Clyde were crappy criminals but they were quite famous for their media presence. I think this one will have the protagonists be social media star criminals, and it will come back and bite them.

A Bonnie and Clyde social media fueled rolling catastrophy in a place that is very much also a rolling catastrophy (FL), seems pretty on par for GTA. They often mimic classics, GTAV had some underpinnings in the Three Musketeers (think: all for one, one for all ending).
The consequences of media buzz IS the story of Bonnie and Clyde. It’s unlikely they would have been chased by police like they were without the newspapers. They were petty criminals.
I agree the foreshadowing means one will die or betray the other somehow. Will bet 100 shark bucks or whatever on it.

Rockstar has done nothing but actual in-game footage for trailers since like GTA3. So, yeah, that shit is fucking insane. Doesn’t even look like a PS5 could run it.

What I can’t figure is how this will run on the Series S.
Well Microsoft has already shown they will cave to have a game, so probably just won’t be on it so it can still be on an Xbox in some form.

So did BG3 at the start and we all know how that went. Microsoft had to reneg on multiple policies just so they could have the game on their consoles.
I believe only the local Co-op was removed though? And the optimizations made for XSS were beneficial to all other platforms as well as they stated, and the game runs now much better on PC and PS5
The optimizations would have been done eventually anyways and Xbox had policies that they had to bend just to have the game on their systems.
People can say the game is coming, but that doesn’t mean it’s happening, it’s already been an issue and will be a continuing issue going forward. The console just isn’t that powerful.
If the game does release, it won’t be the same game as the X, not a chance.
They must have magicians working for them or something. I guess that’s the advantage of using a completely tailor made engine created with unlimited funding, rather than using Unreal or something.
They certainly have some tricks and talent. GTA 5 ran on the launch 360 which had 512mb of RAM shared between CPU and GPU.

I am guessing they’ll wait until after new consoles are released. Let people buy ps5/xXxboxXxSeriesNexXxt remastered. Then let people buy the pc version. Get 3 copies sold to each of most hardcore gamers.
Wonder how much effort they will put into preventing mods this time. I know they bought 5M so it seem they will want to shut all the unauthorized mod communities down.
Next gen consoles are years out. You’re looking at 2029 at the earliest for the next generation of consoles.
Nah, that’s too far. You’re talking like 2028 there for the next gen consoles. PC probably gonna come 6-12 months later, like almost always.
I wonder how much that will be true this time around. This is the first console Gen where I have no plans to get a console, so they can’t even entice me to double dip due to lack of a console. And if I haven’t got a console by 2024 I won’t be getting one just for one game. Exclusives don’t have the same draw anymore, since they’ve started getting ported.
Only console I’ve held onto was the Wii. Unless a Wii release is coming, I’m doomed to wait for a PC release.
One silver lining I see in delayed release is that I have less of an incentive to upgrade my GPU until then, and new GPU might be out that should hopefully handle it maxed out when I do get into it.
As a former Floridian, this is definitely triggering my PTSD as they seriously nailed the atmosphere of Vice City (Miami). Curious if the main characters will be as well written as V’s were

Looks great. I knew after the RDR2 crocs we were going to be getting much better wildlife, which is very exciting.
Graphics look awesome, promising Bonnie and Clyde story.
Seem to have expanded out their in game social media and Internet designs.
Figured it would be 2025 as historically the first trailer always comes out around a year and a half before the game is slated to.

If this isn’t coming out until 2025, I worry about how dated the graphics already look. It’s like they took the same old models/rigs and just brought them into higher definition? Idk, but something looks off about them to me. It definitely doesn’t help the $70-80 price tags that companies are trying to justify when graphics look mostly the same as they ever have.
I think we might have hit peak realism with graphics and need to lean harder into art direction.
If 2025 deadline is met then will probably be 2026-2027 for PC release.

Maybe I’m just getting old but the gameplay loop of Rockstar games has gotten tired. RDR2 was gorgeous but the mission formula was just so boring.
Meh. I’m going to disagree. I feel the graphics were underwhelming given the time they took. The scenery was beautiful but the characters and NPCs need some major work.
Elden Ring was better. Cyberpunk is better. Fortnite is better.
They are making us wait 2 more years and I don’t even care because it’s been that long and they have fallen behind.

Have you played the season that just dropped? It is better than most games. And I’m not some casual. I have a very respectable PC and gaming laptop under Linux and Windows. I know graphics quality.
Really? I thought the lighting and environments looked good, but the models definitely need some work. They look like clay mannequins in an HD world to me, and I feel like that’s only gonna get more exacerbated since this doesn’t come out for another 2 years.
I should play GTA5. Still havent touched it. I think I have it on PS3 somewhere…
