…but I don’t want to get rid of it! Been using RIF since 2011 and it’d feel so weird to take it off my home screen. I tried the Reddit app but it pollutes the front page with so much unnecessary shit that it becomes a chore to browse. Liking the look of Lemmy so far though.

I put the app into a box with lemmy apps and it breaks my heart. It’s an app I have used countlessly many times.
Was a sad day when I had to uninstall Sync. Maybe I’ll try the re-pack you can do to use your own API key
I did this with apollo a few times, but changed the icon to reset my eye/muscle memory. Going to leave it for a while during the mourning period
It still works - sort of. I can browse reddit without signing in. So I haven’t yet deleted it yet. I’m planning to install a vanced version over the coming weekend. Hopefully that will work, I’ve never done anything like it before.
The ring app icon looks similar to rif (blue background red dot so I end up absent mindedly press that one.
I replaced it in my quick access tray (okay, sync, not rif, still) with my lemmy app of choice. I kept launching it anyway and figured this was the easiest way to get over reddit lol

I’m still using it. When Reddit blocks access or you can’t view NSFW subs I’ll delete it.
Honestly, not as much anymore. Transitioning to Lenny was quite smooth with Connect and it made me aware of the Fediverse, which is such a fascinating concept.
RIF will always have a place in me, and I have not, and will probably not delete it anytime soon. I don’t see it from the Playstore anymore, so all the more reason not to. Instead, like what I read somewhere here, I created an “Apps Graveyard” folder and placed it there, keeping me far from unconsciously tapping on RIF for updates.
It will probably take some time.

Nope, because I deleted it. I see now it’s not even listed on the play store.
If saner minds prevail, and it comes back, I’ll reinstall it, but it doesn’t look like that’s happening soon.
Im currently using the wefwef web app and its pretty good. Going to wait for Sync for Lemmy or for Artemis.

Deleted RiF and replaced the same spot on my homescreen with wefwef app.
Just removed sync and added connect to the same spot today … But when sync for Lemmy shows up, I’m gonna use that
