The most important way BG3 can improve is by fixing the right-click to examine bug.
If you try to examine anything during initiative while another player is selecting a reaction, it breaks examining until the next load screen. Happens nearly every initiative in my four player campaign.
Yeah the first 10 hours it’s like nice and all. After 80 hours you just wanna drown her in this damn river. Also the way the music swells everytime you kill an enemy…
I’m 120hr in and honestly still love it. I still do wish there was a lot more variance in music though for sure.
Replay as an evil bard and smash her fucking mandolin.
Every time.
All I can hear when I hear the main theme is “highway to the danger zone”. And now I have infected the rest of you.
I usually play when everyone else is asleep, so the volume is never high enough to hear the music. I’m safe from your curse.
At least the song is 🔥
The harpy version is stuck on my head for days every time I go through that part
Tie me up and throw me in the river before she sings it again.
Down down down down the river…
Ehh
Wait until OP discovers there’s a whole RPG dating sim after the character creator.
Loot boxes! Pay to win!
Die!
I’m having trouble finding the battle pass. It must be in the menus somewhere.
I remember Divinity Original Sin was the same, the song was really shrill too, they don’t appear to have a good track record with a games musical score
Artificer would be great. I wonder if they didn’t purchase the rights to that sourcebook.
This is Twisted Force erasure.
Make the inventory less clunky.
I have 2 requests to improve inventory management:
-
Let us rename pouches/backpacks so we know what we stored there.
-
Let items you pickup stack with items inside your backpacks/pouches. They already do this with alchemy items and food, so the code is partially there.
Also allow scrolls in a backpack to be accessible in the context menu.
And allow those bags to be opened when it is not your turn.
Or Automatically tag bags based on content.
-
I can’t imagine playing on a controller.
Replaying Hades, the music literally makes me go look up the artists on Spotify and follow them
Worth checking out transistor for the same reason
And Bastion.
Maybe skip this one if you don’t like rolling off into nothingness on a regular basis. Pacing is also much slower than Hades.
I just read that in the voice.
I believe the composer, Darren Korb, also voiced Zagreus and Orpheus.
Just Orpheus, not Zag.
But Darren Korb and Ashley Barrett are an absolutely insane musical duo.
I need more games where Ashley sings more, because all her songs in Transistor are amazing.
Having Orpheus’s voice compose the music for the game makes sense from a narrative standpoint. Another point for Hades!
I have one single mod: disable the music in elfsong tavern
hey, it also has one of the best boss themes ever made, in which the fucking boss himself does the lyrics, give them some credit
The music priorities for this game were weird.
Okay do well have one song, and there will be sad and happy and instrumental versions of that song. And we’ll use that song for everything requiring music. Except for this one optional boss battle that is the result of specific choices that were made. He gets a super dope completely different song that he sings himself.
see I wanna agree but one of my favorite game OSTs, Undertale, does exactly the same thing, so I can’t knock the approach
It worked for Super Mario World, too.
It’s called leitmotifs, and Toby Fox is a master of it. You introduce a character and their theme so that a person listening connects the two. And then you can bring up those themes in other songs, and without any context, people can know who those songs relate to and even guess what’s happening.
Man that one optional song started and I was just like “Oh holy shit this is a fucking banger” and added it to my dialy song playlists
I shat bricks, because you know it, when the boss starts singing its own soundtrack, you are in for a though fight
That’s because he’s actually the last boss and he gets what he deserves.
Remove the party limit
Or just bump it to six
teen
You can on PC with a mod.
O sing a song of Balduran, who founded Baldur’s Gaaaaaate.
Empire golden built on trade, could not avert his faaaaaaate.
I always belt that shit out with the singer in the tavern when I long rest. Shit gets stuck in my head so bad.
