I just checked out Playboi Carti. Lyrics are weak and he won’t shut the fuck up in between his lines. Does this guy have tourettes or something? Can’t go more than a second without saying “yuh” or “uh”, it’s like he’s trying to beatbox over his own song. And I know mumble rap is a term used too often but I was literally reading the lyrics as I was listening to this dude and I could still barely understand what the fuck he was even saying.
And before you call me old, I’m the same age as Playboi Carti. I don’t even disagree with your point about modern rap being just as good as older stuff, I just expected a better example.
