And on the Seventh day God rested - and I think we should keep the tradition going.

About to pack to go live at my parents for 6 days but as luck would have it, I’m due to do laundry so all I have to do is throw my clothes in the direction of my suitcase rather than pack them nicely.

I had a bath with a pineapple shaped bath fizzer that made the water turn radioactive pine lime cordial colour.

I discovered the most beautiful poem by an Australian poet - Erin Hanson, the other day:

There is freedom waiting for you,

on the breezes of the sky.

And you ask, “What if I fall?”

Oh, but my darling, “What if you fly?

    sooo: Question.

    • The guys who installed the aircon fucked us around and didn’t give us the electrical certificate until TODAY. Looking at it, they marked the works (non prescribed) as “completed 21st of jan”. The job was completed 21st december. How much trouble will this cause?

I know they did it because (as we pointed out to them) they were wildly in excess of the 30 days notice, which is an offense, and they don’t want to get into widdle trouble but fuck them.

(yes we are feeling cuntish the company in question has fucked us around beyond any measure of kindness.)

Kept dreaming about religious iconography and a white hippo, so I’ll be starting my very own cult any day now.

Feeling a bit overwhelmed. I’ve hated my current job for a while due to the owner of business being a pretty toxic, uncaring individual. Last week I got approached by a friend who I know through a previous job to come and work for our former Creative Director/CEO who has started his own company. At my current job, I’m a casual but work full times hours. My friend has mentioned the new role might only be one day a week. I know my current employer will not allow me to reduce my hours and stay on as the store manager. I also know that if I decide to step down but stay on as a regular casual, she will be vindictive and most likely prevent me from receiving enough hours to get by. I’m meeting my old CEO for a coffee tomorrow and I just feel really sad that this great opportunity to work with some great people will slip through my fingers and I’ll be stuck at my current shitty job and that nothing good can come way.

I don’t know. Asking you to quit a full time job (I understand it’s casual) for a one day a week job is a bit much. If you really want to give it a go, see what your old boss wants and maybe take a week off to try it out and have time to think about it.

Yeah, it’s also a role that I think might require more than one day based on what they want me to do. The brand is relatively unknown and has a great ethos but alos not making a ton of money which is what they want me to help drive. I definitely want to be part of the company, But yeah I think just seeing what he is after and then explaining my situation is the plan. My hope is i’ll be able to get 2 - 3 days which will tide me over and then find another role 1 or 2 days a week. Thanks for the advice!

I don’t believe in staying at a toxic job but the reality is you need to be able to eat.

All the best in whatever you decide. I hope it works out for you 🤞

Sorry about that. I don’t know what the right advice is, but if I were in your place I would have an honest chat with your old CEO. There’s nothing to lose by being honest about what you want (but I would steer clear of being too negative about where you are at). It might be the chance of a lifetime and it might not but it definitely sounds more awesome because where you are is shitty. So - tell them what you need to get by, see where they are at. It might open a door, it might not be the right time. But you are miserable so start looking / talking and see what happens.

      Best of luck!

        agree

I would certainly take the opportunity, ( it will possibly grow into something bigger), and at the same time try to keep some hours at the old place ( old place has zero growth opportunity) until you get some other revenue stream in place

Bit of set back, just found out the fun little procedure I had 10mths ago has done nothing and may in fact have made things worse (small reversal will fix that). Doc is very surprised at the results, so it’s on for more tests and looking at what else can be done that’s not removing that whole area of my person.

Feels bad man, but hopefully we can move onto better things soon.

Ha. Second day in a row there’s been a miscommunication with a client.
On the plus side she’s safe and well and I got paid for a two hour shift where I sat around or did my own Aldi run. 😁

Anyone had any luck with a dirt cheap electric scooter? You’re probably thinking why would I subject myself to that, but I’m gonna be parking it at a station on the Pakenham line, so spending any serious coin is stupid cause its just gonna get stolen anyway. I’ve heard the Limes are pretty easy to nick. Surely someone is “Acquiring” them by ripping out the GPS and spray-painting blue then flipping them on marketplace or something. Or hell, them selling the older units or something. only need bugger all range.

Exciting news from my mechanic - for once there are no unexpected extra expenses to add on to my car’s service. That’s a bit of a rare occurrence these days, and quite welcome after the last few have ended up quite expensive.
