What’s your guys preferred method?

I seem to get great results with this, it’s just 2 paper towels folded up and moistened. It’s then stuck in a ziplock bag and I use a plate for a little insulation and water protection, but I put it right on top of my grow light that’s doing 12/12 for flower.

No presoak in water or peroxide.

They than go into some pre soaked plugs until the first true leaves come out and into the aeroponics after.

I grow in soil and for me it’s Jiffy pellets 100% … super easy to up-pot and I’ve had much better germination success rates than anything else I’ve tried.

I used the paper towel method for years but lately I’ve had nothing but problems with it. How long do healthy seeds take before they have germination problems caused by age?

I don’t think there’s an exact timeline, better storage will make them last longer, but the sooner the more viable they will be. It’s not unheard of for 15 year bag seed sitting in a cupboard to still sprout.

You can germinate decades old seeds, there’s some research on that. Germinating them in a 1% hydrogen peroxide solution also greatly improves their chances to sprout

I have 2x of a new auto, but these 2 are Durban poison, their mates are currently week 6 of flower and they have blown me away. They grew damn near 36” in flower from 8” tall.

That’s not a bad idea during the summer, during the winter though those windows can get chilly, frost can even build up.
