Been poking around All recently and I’ve noticed that there is more lemmy activity in Dutch than any other non-English language. German following that, and then Portuguese (I think, maybe Spanish). I see more Nederlander posts than even the UK instances. So what’s up with this? Cheers from Canada 😙

Oh interesting, I didn’t know you could view the origin. Tbh wondering where the activity is coming from, because all activity in Dutch I see is pretty low. Maybe some bots? Or do you mean that a lot of traffic originates from the Netherlands?
No, I just mean so much of it is in Dutch, on a .nl instance, or both.
Where are you finding all these Dutch posts? This is the only vaguely active Dutch sub I know of

Aw. We’re pretty used to hanging out in English-speaking spaces so there’s probably more Dutch folk hiding around. I do know the head admin of lemmy.world is Dutch, as well as one of the main devs of mbin.
Why is lemmy so popular in the Netherlands?

- feddit.de has problems with their server administration but I would expect them to have more posts in German.

Bad. Far right government is almost ready to start governing, but if you ask me, things were already pretty bad. I guess it could be much worse though.
I hope for your sake that they govern well. I’ve heard that your new prime minister is an independent. Do you think that will help temper the far right coalition?

I’d expect the new prime minister to only be a messenger for the new coalition like a pizza delivery boy. But on the whole things could be worse, like in Hungary.
Yeah, I’m glad neither of our countries have a Russian asset for a leader.

I’m on a Dutch instance but it looks very quiet (I do have bot accounts disabled though).
Yeah, after disabling various bots reposting from nos and other sources, there doesn’t seem much left from the Netherlands.

I mean, I personally don’t think it’s that popular, but I guess that the few Dutch users who are on Lemmy, just post a lot. I personally post often about Dutch football, in [email protected]
