They did a lot of mutually brand beneficial cross promotion in his previous daily show days. Interviews on one another’s shows, hyped up issue debates, etc.

Pretty sure he’s said one of his biggest regrets was talking to a young Tucker Carlson on that show and focusing on how stupid his bowtie was and not the awful shit he spouted.

It’s actually a pretty commercial n topic with fascists and even just regular conservatives.

Like, Boris Johnson 100% knew his haircut was absolutely insane.

He also knew that the media would latch onto it. And the more they talked about how ridiculous he looked, the less they’d talk about how horrible he really was.

trump’s taken it to a whole new level

It doesn’t have to be intentional.

With Boris it was and that made him more dangerous.

But even when it’s unintentional, there’s such a thing as media saturation. So candidates that are constantly crazy and doing awful shit benefit from not just getting press coverage for the awful shit.

honestly I’m not sure I buy the idea that any significant portion trump’s awful shit is flying under the radar because of his wacky hair.

I don’t understand why they couldn’t cover the convention just because a guy got shot at a Trump Rally. You’d think the impetus would be on the GOP to postpone their rally or something, why does Comedy Central have to be symbolically sympathetic one?
