Let me write out some of my thoughts on this.
First, obviously Dave Rubin doesn’t believe this. This is hog slop. This is slop for hogs. This isn’t serious, by any definition of that word. No one truly thinks this. The “Ugandan Giant”? Kamala isn’t particularly large and she wouldn’t do well in pro wrestling. You can actually trace her career, because she’s been a politician for decades. But. Despite all the obvious reasons why these two people are obviously different people, there’s at least one fucking weirdo on the internet who is going to believe this stupid fucking theory and make it a cornerstone of their identity. Fuck.

Is this real? If it is, it’s spectacularly racist. Like more overtly so then I would expect from Rubin, who cosplays as a moderate.
/edit holy shit it’s real. The Kamala character was a stereotype of an African tribal who could not talk and made only animal noises. He waved around a spear and casted hexes on his opponents. This tweet is like one degree of overt racism below just straight up calling Kamala Harris the n-word.

FD signifier did a pretty good video essay on the history of black characters and performers in wrestling, particularly WWE. As you said, it was really bad, and still is kind of suspect sometimes. I recommend giving it a watch, even if you’re not into wrestling.

FD is so good. I first heard about him because I heard (funny clown hammer) trying to dunk on him, and assumed that probably meant he was good.
I first saw his video on white anxiety when Bo Burnham’s Inside was all the rage, and it was refreshing to see somebody not completely dunk on it, but also putting it into the context of the breakdown of the liberal facade of welfare for white folx, making them suddenly realize what all marginalized peoples have known for ages.
