India’s rate of emissions intensity - the total amount of greenhouse gas emissions emitted for every unit increase of gross domestic product (GDP) - fell by 33%
It’s important to note that emissions did not decrease, the rate of the increase decreased.
So another misleading title then.
It’s a small step I suppose…
Indeed uplifting news.
Doing this while growing their economy is encouraging… but still a long way to go.
That’s cool. Hopefully other countries follow such strategies.
Sort of like having to slow a large boat down before turning to go in the other direction, maybe not the best analogy. It might not be going in different direction yet but its not something that can turn on dime.
