Preparing food in the shower was good enough for Kramer.

My wife and I looked at this wild old house a few months back that had a toilet built in the basement connected to the basement that came off of the other basement. Like, this house just kept going in weird directions and had all kinds of absurd additions. Anyway… The toilet down there was in this small room, perched atop a high carpeted platform with a few stairs (also carpeted) leading up to the throne itself. It was so fucking weird.

That sounds kinda awesome. If you didn’t shit there you missed a once in a lifetime opportunity.

They don’t seem to provide a source for that. It’s probably fake, and also this post is frustratingly clickbaity for my tastes.

As far my somewhat drunk brain can read, the place is real. What’s fake is saying it’s in Dublin and charging 1700€ for it.

Honestly toilets near kitchens as not that strange. Friend rented a home with one behind a door near the backdoor of their kitchen. Because a pipe from ran through there.

Also someone else I know in a 500k+ home has a toilet right by there kitchen where you come in from the garage. Sure there is a hallway. But you can see straight in there if the doors open and if you measured it’s probably less than 6ft from his fridge. Guess the illusion of it being less gross is there is some separation?

It’s not an illusion. There’s enough disgusting stuff on my vegetables, when they come fresh from the supermarket. No need for poop particles in my cooked food.

Fun fact, your home is covered in fecal matter, shit is everywhere even the air you breathe.

Posting guidelines.

Posts in this community must be of property (inside or out) listed for sale which contains a terrible element. “Terrible” can refer to:

  • the photo itself (finger over the lens, too far away, people in the shot, bad Photoshop, etc.)

  • the property (weird layout, questionable plumbing, unsound structure, etc.)

  • the interior (carpeted bathrooms, awful taste interiors, weird mannequins/taxidermies/art, inflatable pools indoors, etc.)

  • the actual listing itself including unusual descriptions and unrealistic pricing. However, this isn’t a community to discuss the housing market in general. This is a comedic community - let’s keep it light.

  • Photos can be sourced from anywhere and be any age, but please check they haven’t already been posted.

  • Censor any names/contact details of private individuals.

  • Mark the post NSFW if it includes nudity or sensitive content

Rules.

This community follows the rules of the feddit.uk instance and the lemmy.org code of conduct. I’ve summarised them here:

  • Be civil, remember the human.
  • No insulting or harassing other members. That includes name-calling.
  • Respect differences of opinion. Civil discussion/debate is fine, arguing is not. Criticise ideas, not people.
  • Keep unrequested/unstructured critique to a minimum.
  • Remember we have all chosen to be here voluntarily. Respect the spent time and effort people have spent creating posts in order to share something they find amusing with you.
  • Swearing in general is fine, swearing to insult another commenter isn’t.
  • No racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, xenophobia or any other type of bigotry.
  • No incitement of violence or promotion of violent ideologies.
