better than modern engines that are cladded in black plastic lol. given the age you’re better off painting it to look clean.

I like them raw aluminium look, unless it’s corroded, can just use a wire brush and scrub it to shine.

that’s really sick… kancils and miras go so hard. if i had the cash i want to build one and put screamer pipe on it to do a bit of trolling

will the intercooler be sitting on top?

also, please share the build on !cars if you feel like it!

It is mostly stock, I took the engine from my cousin after he wrecked his Kancil. Just we just finished rebuilding the engine, it needed a new camshaft, piston rings and a new turbo. Next up is the wiring and fuel pump.

Exterior wise,it is stock as it can be with the original 12" rims. The intercooler will still sit on the top but I heard it can have some cooling issues if you still use the original hood but my brother thinks it’s fine. We don’t want to cut the bumper to make room for a front mounted intercooler.

I thought about letting the car “retire” back in Terengganu and just let my mom use it but because its a manual it’s not going to be used. So I’m going to leave my current daily (also a Kancil but with a 1.0L engine and auto) in Terengganu instead.

Anyways, a cheap Kancil build is a Kancil 850 with an Iswara carburetor. Those fuckers can really go.

i would be worried about heatsoak as well as engine knock… maybe get a hood scoop like WRX, i think you can even DIY it

Would you be running stock ECU? easy to tune?

Honestly, I hate the look of the hood scoop, read somewhere thag some people used washers to slightly lift the hood.

It would be running the stock ECU, most people use piggybacks but mine will be kept stock as I’m looking for reliability not performance.

Or you could try vents? They are more subtle.

On the contrary I think tuning it makes it more reliable, it’s possible to run a safe tune and lower the boost. Can even retain stock power. May need specialised ECU and specialist for that sort of 3D tuning tho.

Hopefully not too many issues there and ECU like what you did to the car. I have a few friends with untuned modified car, runs so rich it stinks lol.

But…muh sleeper. It’s being tested this week, we’ll see if it has any problems with cooling.

I wouldn’t say the engine is modified though, it originally came in the Daihatsu Mira L5, my cousin bought the halfcut and stuffed it in his car. So the engine is technically “stock” because we didn’t do any modifications. I originally thought you meant the orginal ECU as in the one that came in the halfcut.

wait, it came turbocharged from the factory? i thought you’re doing a full turbo swap or sth. if that’s the case tuning probably isn’t warranted.

i have this habit of nuking my plates and bowls in the microwave to make them warm so food stays warm for longer. recently found out that many of my plates and bowls have fatigue crack lol, very prone to chipping and I also found fine cracks.

anwyays i just destroyed a tub of hyperabadi chicken fry briyani meant for 2 people (around 700g), no ragrets. gonna drink some chai to wash it down. probably 1500+++ calories lol this meal.

Ceramic plate or melamine? Should’ve use an oven for that if you’re using ceramic, turn the temp to lowest.

One of the little joys of going back home to vote - it’s like a mini reunion, ha!

Also just discovered one of my former classmates was standing for election. Won by a large margin too. Never expected that, wasn’t the best student in school, ha! But really glad for them, looking up some news and they seemed to be doing quite some work in their area.

This should be great for the students who are concerned about their SPM results, it’s not the end of the world if they don’t do well enough.

For my former classmate’s case it’s less about academic results - we’re from a quite a reputable high school after all - but more on that they were not the best behaving student in class. Though nothing bad and more of middle-schooler antics, but I remember them as quite a mischievous person, loud, and always ready for a prank. But I guess that was a way of them showcasing their leadership quality even back then.

But still it’s indeed a good encouragement for young people to not base their self-value on results, also to be less anxious about their future directions, but that they’ll also find their strengths and passion one day.

Does anyone knows where I can get cheap dress shoes? I don’t feel like splurging way more than RM60 for something I’ll wear only once.

I would say Bata but their stuff isn’t cheap these days. Maybe you can try borrowing from BNP groups? Or thrift shops?

Yep, I’m going to a few thrift stores around my area. Couldn’t find my size in BNP groups or Carousell.
