As a Chicagoan these lanes are EVERYWHERE and car brains HATE THEM and they are AWESOME. I skate and bike in them and they’re just so nice. It’s usually faster to get around on bike now than any other method. Bike stores around me are basically always sold out of bikes because everyone is buying them now.

And my understanding is the city has no intention of slowing down the deployment of these. It’s been so nice.

Honestly they mostly are, and they always make a big deal about how they’re FINALLY moving to the BURBS and I’m like good riddance? We won’t miss you, get the fuck out and never come back thank you

Riding a bike throughout Chicago has its difficult parts but generally speaking it’s a pretty pleasant experience. Riding my bike to Chinatown remains my absolute favorite summer activity. Good food, some boba tea, and a beautiful summer day are hard to beat.

Sweet! Here in Toronto, the province is making legislation so they can tear out our amazing (but already minimal) city bike lanes

grill-broke If reducing fatal collisions comes at the cost of making car drivers see bike lanes, it’s not worth it
