The claim that Isrsel is currently performing a genocide on the Palestinians is not debatable. They have cut off the entirety of Northern Gaza and started executing everyone they see on site. They besieged the only remaining hospital there several times and imprisoned all but a couple of the staff. They are deliberately trying to starve the population and even went so far as banning the UNRWA, which is the only agency capable of keeping the Palestinians alive. And do you think that once they finish there they’ll stop? They will continue with the rest of Gaza once they are done. They’ve even started attacking and demolishing homes in the West Bank as well. And they’re trying to invade Lebanon as well like they have tried to in the past.
Saying things will get worse under Trump is pointless. The genocide is underway, and it’s been blessed by the Biden administration as well as the Democratic party. Harris has made it clear she doesn’t plan on deviating from this course. So I stand by previous statement, Harris would not have saved them. Either one as president, the Palestinians die.

It’s privilege to say “Trust me it can get worse even as an extermination campaign is underway and other countries are being invaded”.
The escalations that are coming in the next few months would have happened with Harris as well. Both political parties have made it abundantly clear that Israel can do whatever it wants. There are no red lines for them.

I’ve been reading books about the region for about 20 years. Where have you been? There is no difference between the parties when it comes to that conflict. They have other differences but not about Israel Palestine. Israel is the major Middle East foothold for American empire and policy has been consistent there for 50 years. Biden/Harris are currently committing genocide there, escalating the terror there to the worst levels in the history of the conflict. It does not get worse than genocide, nothing republicans can do is worse than genocide, there are hundreds of thousands dead. Fuck Harris, Biden, and Trump for this. This is reality and it’s bad. It isn’t a maybe it will be fine maybe it won’t situation. Trump has promised wealthy powerful people a lot of stuff to get him into power. And they put him into power specifically to do that stuff. They have plainly said exactly what they are going to do, laid out an agenda and promised to follow it as best they can. The final hurdle was the election, which even if it went a bit bad for them could have still worked with lawsuits about voter fraud or plain insurrection. But it didn’t went bad for them, it was a major victory. They couldn’t have dreamt of a better outcome. There are no more hurdles, no more barriers, no more limits. At this point it’s denial to think they aren’t going to do what they set out to do.
I feel there are things we can do for our own mental health and maybe the people around us. But as for the big picture, it’s done, it’s over. We’ve seen first hand what happens if this kind of thing goes down in a country and the outcome is always the same.

I’m planning to move to Puerto Rico, which unlike every other state/territory in the country, its party system does not align with the national one (similar to Quebec in Canada), but more politicians there are nationally affiliated with Democrats than with Republicans, and from what I know, while Trump enjoys support among a chunk of stateside Puerto Ricans much like other Hispanics, Trump isn’t very popular there considering he neglected them after Hurricane Maria and tried to sell it, as well as the more recent “island of garbage” shenanigans
