Yeah the arcade scene near the beginning. John and his pal scam an ATM using some Atari thing then go to the arcade. T-1000 shows up, the friend lies to him, warns John. John runs out the back to encounter the T-800, who John doesn’t know is friendly yet, as he pulls a Gun from a box of Roses
And the music playing was written BY one of the guys from Guns n’ Roses. Also his pal, the guy in the pic who initially misleads the T-1000 is called Tim.
Ah yes, I forgot his name was Tim.
I know You Could Be Mine was for the soundtrack and was playing while they were riding John’s dirt bike, but I don’t recall the music playing in the hallway when the T-800 appears.
Not many movies I can say the sequel was better than the original, but T2, 100%.
And that’s not to say the original terminator was bad or anything, they were different movies centered around a similar concept and I love em both.
But they had to keep making them for so long…

Funny thing. I was working in NYC in public health on 9/11/2001. Afterwards, we got a lot of lectures on terrorism and mass casualty incidents.
Say Nothing by Patrick Radden Keefe could be a good place to start. The central bit being told is about the abduction and murder of a woman, but most of the book is really about the history of the IRA and the Troubles, giving context to the abduction.

That’s a good question and easy to answer, so I’ll try: Anyone who didn’t see the movie, does not remember this scene. Glad I could help.
That’s one of the biggest problems with the internet. People think that because they’ve seen something three of four times the entire world knows about it. Probably everyone on lemmy has seen that movie, but there are plenty of people who don’t like science fiction or Arnold or action movies.
If you go by lemmy, Linux is more popular than Adele.

It’s one of those movies that has had a cultural impact for decades after release. If you did watch it today you’d probably be surprised how many scenes you’re familiar with from various media it’s influenced and been parodied in since release.
Or maybe not. Cultural landscape has changed so much there isn’t really a monoculture that can refer back to previous highlights/milestones within itself.
If you didn’t catch the end of that time it may all be lost to you. Which doesn’t matter, but the first two terminator movies are really good if you’re into that kind of rhing. James Cameron before Titanic and Avatar.
Someone talked about seeing ‘The Sting’ for the first time. They couldn’t believe that anyone in the audience didn’t know all those cons, then realized that when the movie was made, all those gags were fresh.

I didn’t recognize it immediately. I haven’t watched it in a long time. It felt familiar though, and it all clicked as soon as I read “terminator 2”.
I’ve seen the movie ages ago, didn’t remember this scene at all.
However, I recognized the T1000 actor immediately, so I knew it was from one of the terminator sequels, but not even immediately T2.
I did, but then my family had this movie on VHS when I was younger and I’ve probably watched it like 100 times. It came on TV once when I was on the phone with my friend and I quoted all the lines just ahead of the TV. I bet that annoyed the shit out of her.
I was doing that the other day while my wife was watching Ace Ventura… Haven’t seen it in probably 20 years, doesn’t stop me… Your gun is digging into my hip…

Looks like any of hundreds of movies from that time. It’s been literal decades since I saw it, I was probably the same age my daughter is now. Once I read the reference I realized that I do recognize T1000, but I definitely don’t remember that kid.

They can offer whatever rewatd they want. Their entire business model is based on promising to provide money before refusing to cough it up.
They’ll find ways to deny it. Saying that the information in and of itself was insufficient as they needed to send someone out there with a firearm, therefore providing further health insurance liabilities and therefore nullifies the reward.
