A family member put on a game show that included Brian Blessed and I commented it ‘must be old as he’s been dead for a while’?
Nope. 88 and going strong.
Who else has surprised you?
Donald trump. Unfortunately.
You… thought Donald Trump was dead? Unless you don’t live on this planet, I don’t believe you.
Might have been a joke.
i have a community for this
https://moist.catsweat.com/m/stillalive
im always forgetting cher is still here for some reason
Weirdly when I open that in instance I only see one post but if I open the full link, I see plenty
That’s a pretty normal part of the fediverse. Somebody from your instance has to be subbed to a community for your instance to start pulling in its posts. Anything that was posted while nobody was subbed doesn’t exist on your end.
This is a triumph
I’m making a note here:
Huge success!
By the way, this cake is great… so delicious and moist!
I’m making a note here, huge success
Dick Van Dyke
Chuck Norris, back in 2010s. I thought I heard of a heart attack before that.
Elvis
I thought Carter was dead until he was in the news for turning 100.

If I were his hospice worker, I’d tell him Kamala won.
Maybe knowing the truth, he’ll fight harder and live another 100 years out of rage.
I im imagining he goes to make a pact with the Devil:
Jimmy: “Let me outlive Donald Trump, and I’ll pledge you my soul.”
Satan: “Don’t worry about it bro this one’s on the house.”
He could still run for a second term.
I mean he’s been in hospice for like 18 months now . . .
Mel Brooks. He turned 98 this year.
I had the opposite situation with Jim Varney/Ernest. I was so sad when I found out why there weren’t any new Ernest films at the time :(
Christopher Loyd for a while
Buzz Aldrin.
Dick van Dyke turns 99 in a few weeks.
Kick your knees up, step in time!
I swear to God he’s the first person that came to mind, and here it’s currently the first post - thank you for reminding me that he’s still alive!
Morgan Freeman.
Though in hindsight I realized he probably would’ve given his own eulogy.
James Earl Jones prior to him actually passing away.
Yes. I think his character dies in one of the Jack Ryan films (clear and present danger?) and for years my brain thought that was real life…
The day James Earl Jones died I was talking to my girlfriend about him and wondered if he was still alive.
He was.
30 minutes later he died. Literally 30 fucking minutes.
I feel like I manifested it…
He was probably dead when you thought of it, it just hadn’t been announced yet. You didn’t manifest it, you felt a disturbance in the Force.
