There are a few alternatives with minimal calories (5-10) that add fruit juice for a bit more punch. Works really well for grapefruit in particular
Haven’t had La Croix, but in general I love carbonated water. It’s quite possible I drink more sparkling water than I drink tap water because my tap just tastes yucky for some reason.
Try a pitcher filter! I’ve found it can make a big difference in taste.

Huge difference in sugar content in La Croix or Spindrift or whatever other brand and sodas.
Soda is filled with massive amounts of sugar and caffeine. It is extremely different from carbonated water.
