Facts should no longer be admitted or confirmed, which is why they are facts. It would have been different if, for example, some disinformation campaigns had been launched afterwards in an attempt to conceal the facts. So it was accepted, but attempts were made to shift the focus onto the “traitors to the country”… with success… sad that Americans who care about Americans are being hunted by Americans globally.

They also admitted it much earlier, but without the words that actions conveyed instead.

It has been confirmed and proven by the facts - nothing more needs to be admitted. Apart from that… James Clapper has already been forgotten. Who made fun of it and what else was going on… Nothing more had to be admitted.

They want a list because there’s a zero percent chance that they’ll successfully manipulate public opinion through social media.

You can’t put us all on the little list by definition, because then it would be the big list.

This is not about data analysis. This is about justifying oppression. And if it comes to “we have found you all to be dangerous” the conclusion is “we need to oppress you all”

Wait, how? Because I only know about statistics and you usually want a comprehensive list to work with either partially or in bulk.

I think the point of big data is to collect enough information to extrapolate other qualities about whatever you want to know, so if everyone is on the list then you have no patterns to go off of besides “on Earth” or “in X country”.

Side comment: if 99% of people were on the list, the the govt could just oppress everyone with a 99% accuracy rate. It’s entirely possibly they could pick a proportion drastically lower than 99%

I’d imagine that some people, when given a choice between a service that shares your data with the Chinese government versus one that shares your data with the US government, well, the Chinese government can’t arrest you for bullshit reasons on US soil. The US government can.

An evil company was evil. A very understandable thing happened when evil people are killing Americans. Now I’m going to get put on a list for liking a post.

It’s like you don’t have to do anything besides exist and you get put on a list. I’m sure this won’t be used by the new administration to silence dissent.

That seems unlikely to me tbh, even an inept revolution can be dangerous to a government, and that would require a level of government control over media and long term planning that would be nigh impossible to use without the common person being somewhat aware of it. Id suspect it’s more something like celebrating revolutionaries being part of the US’s “founding myth” so to speak, and a lot of movies being made here. Having your heroes be rebels is an easy way to tell the audience theyre “the good guys” in such a culture.

They don’t. I’ve met one person since that useless human got deleted that couldn’t understand why everyone was unsympathetic toward him. The person was very wealthy and has no understanding of how things are for the majority of people in the US. These people are really a lot like the french nobles before the french revolution.

And there are also tons of people who take the sorta-centrist view that “no matter how bad the corporation’s acts, killing its ceo is wrong!!!” and only view using a gun against a black (now mexican/muslim bubba fetishes as well) ‘robber’ as valid self defense.

Sure but this person wasn’t one of them. She was born into a wealthy family and has never wanted. for anything. There are plenty of these types around who would probably end themselves if they ever lost it all.

I wasn’t contradicting you or trying to say that my assertion was the correct one about your example, just adding on to how many different ways we are deviating from the “so pretty much everyone” idea. I probably should have put in there how they don’t even look at the corporation’s acts as bad, justifying it in the typical ‘money is all that matters’ view commonly held, and that’s what truly guides their statements about killing of ceos.

I have a negative view of health insurance companies. In fact, I have a negative view of corporations, from the local mom-&-pops that underpay their employees and expect long hours, to Amazon. They all suck.

But people who create policies that cause immense loss of life (and cost and destruction) are really asking for ten-plus times the vengeance that actually comes their way.

I’m not interested in that vengeance since it won’t solve the problem, but I don’t begrudge those who suffer at their hands from wanting to kill them back.
