Yeah, It’s a one time thing they did so it went under the radar of lots of people. Also why I shared it, glad I made you happy <3

Ooh, this was great! Thanks for the rec.

As an ex-drummer, I enjoyed how stylishly understated the drums were. I used to enjoy leaning into a mock rivalry with bassists, the humour of which was partly anchored in the deep solidarity of being rhythm-section

          My pleasure.

I’m a amateur bassist, so in the mock rivalry I’d say this is showing how much of the rhythm-section bassists can fill ^^

And we can also do some dope harmony. I love the jokes about how bassist are translators between drummers and guitarists.

Victor Wooten has lessons on YouTube where he does emphasize that a lot.

My search-fu is failing me, mainly because there’s a film and TV show with that name dominating results.

      Can I get a TL;DR?

Took a quick look and it appears a group of people wanted to shoot a live action series with similar trappings as the OP picture. They did a kickstarter for 5k and were unable to deliver on that budget.

This is from 30 seconds of research, so grain of salt and all that.

Does anyone like 1-hour video essays, though? (I mean appreciate it vs nothing, but as a blanket statement…)

I watched a 4 hour essay about the star wars Disney hotel…also I think there was a 3 hour one about how awful star trek Picard was.

The Disney hotel one was with that weird chick and she’s great. 10/10 would blow away my time on that again. However, YouTube is filled with literal garbage.

Jenny Nicholson, for anyone interested. There’s an equally long one about a failed permanent Renaissance Faire that’s a real trip, too. Almost all of them are a fun diversion, really.

I can watch two of those per workday, on my bus commute to/from work. Usually end up watching history documentaries instead (currently going through a 6 hours one detailing the Franco-Prussian war of 1870, gonna be an interesting week)

For me - not necessarily for concentrated viewing, but I can deal better with some boring tasks when I have something in the background that keeps my brain occupied, be it a podcast, a long video essay, or whatever else.

In case you’ve actually never heard of it, BIPOC is the respectful way to refer to the global majority (black, indigenous, and people of colour) and is widely used not just across the internet but in professional settings and in general the world. It has nothing to do with someone “trolling the internet” too hard/needing to go outside. Talking shit on the label is akin to talking shit on people who identify with any of the 2SLGBTQ+ labels.

I’ve never heard of it but sounds dumb. Why does everything need a label and why group up people of color under a label like that

For the same reason that lgbt+ people use self-chosen labels, it forms a way for us to bond and find community in primarily white environments. We have different lived experiences (to white folks) and sometimes it’s nice to find people with similar experiences to your own and that understand things from your point of view, labels can help with that.

Besides the world already labels us based on how we look so why can’t we use those labels to recognize each other and find unity in that.

Do you think it’s dumb that LGBTQ+ people group together for community (along with other purposes)?

If + covers and more why are we adding 2S also although the particular culture referenced is unique as they all are its not clear 2S actually references a different type of sexuality different from intersex and or bisexuality and the acronym was already unweildy as fuck.

There are so many different aspects to sexuality it seems silly to try to abbreviate. Also if you add enough letters you’ll eventually cover anyone not completely boring.

I’m not gonna go into all the details about colonial history and present day issues in Canada because that’s a huge topic and something a person needs time to digest and be open to learning, but in short, Canadians use 2S in front of/as a part of the acronym as a way to recognize and honour the oldest and one of the most marginalized and at-risk groups of people in Canada (two-spirit Indigenous individuals).

That being said (as you can see from my other comments) I often switch between using 2SLGBTQ+, LGBT+, queer, and many other forms of the acronym. It’s a personal choice and I’m not going to dictate how other people refer to the community. I’ll also note that the term 2SLGBTQI+ is the official term in my country (again, we include the 2S in the spirit of reconciliation)

My sister was born first so I think she just took all of the attraction genes in the dressing room and left me with crumbs.
