I haven’t played a god of war game since the first two back on the PS2. Ive been a PC guy since the PS3 generation pretty much. I know they ported the new games to PC but I have yet to play them. I don’t know if I need to play them both or if I should just jump straight to the newest one.

I would play them in order. The first has a better more personal story, and the second has a more expansive story and evolved combat. Together they tell the full Norse arch.

I have goopy goblin gamer brain and I skip all stories. Which one has better gameplay?

I found the combat in the first to be more fun (played it three times on all difficulties) but opinions probably differ and they both miss the huuge set pieces from the old games. Still both very good games!

Eventually Kratos is going to run out of pantheons to beat up. What’s next? All the aspects of Vishnu? (But we kinda already had that game…)

The God of War comics (I think it was 2-3 issues long), which take place between old Greek saga and this new Norse one, has Kratos passing through Egypt, IIRC. I wonder if they will take place at that time, or he is going back to Egypt after Ragnarok (which I haven’t played yet, so no spoilers!).

Yeah, I don’t want to play a prequel, but on the other hand, I don’t want the characters to have their live constantly getting messed up just to please the players. They should be able to retire and spend their remaining life in peace. 😀

I was going to say something but it’s a spoiler for the end of Ragnarok. Anyway, I trust them to make good creative decisions.

            Thanks for not spoiling!

I plan to play Ragnarok sometime this year, let’s discuss this after that.
