I was looking at getting some roguelikes / lites (already have ToME, CoQ), unfortunately Cataclysm DDA is not on sale.
Krone Hotel at 90% off looks like a decent choice too. Then there’s Jupiter Hell, which I recently stumbled upon and looks great too.
I’d also like to get some of the FF games, though I’ve played VI, VII, IX and a bit of XII, it would be nice to revisit some of the older ones I haven’t played almost since the PSX era.
I’ve been watching other people play Deep Rock Galactic for a while now, might be time to actually get my feet wet lol.
Rock and stone!
Definitely recommend that game, it’s really fun with a group of friends!
- Dredge
- Vampire Survivors
- Pizza Tower
Those were some of the few recommended Steam Deck games I didn’t own yet :)
Some other games I bought I don’t really plan on playing on my Deck:
- Horizon Zero Dawn
- Battle Bit
- Cosmoteer
- Nimbus
- Flight Simulator
I got the original system shock games to play before I do the remake! 5 bucks for the bundle! 😁
I picked up Sun Haven. I was thinking of playing it the other day, and the steam sale reminded me it existed. (I’m having fun with it, but the play experience is somewhat janky.)
Other items on my wishlist on much bigger discounts are just sitting there because I don’t have the mental space for them.
I enjoyed it for awhile, but it definitely feels like one to wait on and return to it later when it’s more developed.
Hades :)
Hades is sooooo good!
I keep waiting for Caves of Qud to have a more substantial sale, but since I’m fairly deep into Cataclysm at the moment and it’s free I think I’m gonna get some smaller and cheaper ones - Dawn of Mexica and Golden Krone Hotel (check them out, they at least seem very cool if you’re into roguelikes), still trying to decide whether to include ADOM or ToME as wel. Also debating Osmos, Myst, Pac-Man Championship Edition 2 or whether to just bite it and get CoQ finally.
Both ToME and Caves of Qud are amazing games. You can get ToME for free off the official website
look into some of the community made controller templates, as there are a lot of keybinds to cover it could be easier to use a template as a starting point.

CoQ is worth the price. I’ve been playing that game steadily for the last year and a half, and I’m still having fun. I’ll probably keep playing it until Steam Dwarf Fortress gets a native Mac OS port.
Yeah I’ve figured it probably is worth it for me, but I’m not sure if I’ll have one too many irons in the fire with both Cataclysm and CoQ. Haven’t played a more traditional roguelike in over a decade so it’s taking a bit getting used to again.
just bought American Truck Simulator and Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA
ATS and ETS are such chill games. Nothing but endless roads and your foot on the pedal.
Definitely, when I opened ETS2 I would forget about time and play it for hours; ATS right now is 75% off so it’s definitely a good time for me to try it
ATS and ETS are pretty much on sale for $5 during every sales event.
That’s not meant to be dismissive though, they are great games, a few years old, and definitely a great value. DLC can be a bit more expensive, but the base games allow for plenty of fun on their own.
However, the DLC does get discounted often - so there is that. They tend to keep the prices higher on the more recent DLCs and lower it substantially for the older DLCs - purchasing the older DLCs first is a good way to build them up.
The developers also listened to user input/complaints about the distance scale of ATS vs ETS2 when it came out and completely redid the content/game for free. I think they are on their 3rd revamp of California, and often rework or improve existing content.
Pretty cool developers IMO and I appreciate and support their business practices. The game is good with a controller, but way better with a wheel!
I appreciate the built in mod support, custom game settings (no speed enforcement! - thank you very much!), ability to quick save before passing at 90Mph on a blind mountain curve, custom music, etc. Fun and chill game!
Thinking of picking up Stray. My GF loves cats and has been waiting for a sale.
Absolute must play!
I received BattleBit Remastered as a birthday gift, it’s great. I hope they don’t drop Linux support.
Other than that I might buy Bugsnax.
I finally picked up Subnautica and its sequel. Really liking the game so far, though I tried to play it twice on Hardcore and ended up forgetting that I need to breathe both times, lol.
I ended up turning the difficulty down because I found eating and sleeping too micromanagy. I like that they give you the option. It was definitely a fun game.
I bought Signalis, really enjoying it so far
So far picked up Pillars of Eternity Bundle, Stalker Bundle and Mass Effect Legacy. Probably won’t get much else, if anything been debating on Sea of Thieves but I wouldn’t have anyone to play that with so I’m being realistic if id enjoy it solo or not.
Honestly playing through Mass Effect Legacy alone would probably be enough to tide you over until the next sale.
CDDA is Open Source, just visit the devs Website
Buying it on Steam ist just if you want to support the Dev
Does anyone have experience playing Cyberpunk on the deck? I saw it was deck verified, but not sure how I feel about it. Just saw it was on sale and was curious
It runs under medium settings around 30fps. Not great but playable.
Oh okay, thank you. I definitely expected something along those lines just because the game requires a lot of resources.
You know that Cataclysm DDA is Free software, right ?
Just open the terminal and execute
sudo pacman -S cataclysm-dda
