for example, if one of the characters wants to say “bye mom”, they might instead say “PEACE OUT BROTHER! MM MM OH YEAH!” and starts dancing/doing a “cool” gesture.

some of them also use “tiktok speak”/brainrot but i don’t get why, since wouldn’t this be “cooler” with children? i don’t know any actual adults who like things like that nor do they speak like that.

are they perhaps making fun of the younger generation? because it seems genuine, not making fun.

odd. i mean, i also see this a lot on instagram stuff to promote their shows, i guess. new american dad doesn’t do this much, but i know the beginning of the new episode had roger being emo or something and saying “emo af!” not exactly brainrot, but still

[my parents hated that i watched it at age 14, but american dad may be for teenagers. I’m sure there are other named examples where people did the stuff i named in the post.]

What exactly are you trying to say? I can barely understand this post. Do you have examples?

off the top of my head, only one sort of like it.

"new american dad doesn’t do this much, but i know the beginning of the new episode had roger being emo or something and saying “emo af!” not exactly brainrot, but still

[my parents hated that i watched it at age 14, but american dad may be for teenagers. I’m sure there are other named examples where people did the stuff i named in the post.]" and the user who says they say “that’s fire” in new episodes

It could be an instance of “how do you do, fellow kids?”

Wanting to fit in but not knowing how to do it right.

I saw a commercial for viagra or a similar male enhancement drug and the voiceover was the generic tiktok AI voice.

Brainrot is a very unique kind of joke. To old people, it’s funny because “haha kids are stupid.” To middle-aged people, it’s funny because it sounds like a meme and that on its own makes it funny. To young adults, it’s funny because it’s an ironic meta joke that’s funny just because it’s supposed to be funny even though it really isn’t funny. To teenagers, it’s funny because “haha old people are stupid because “haha kids are stupid” so let’s play a prank on old people to make them think we’re stupid.” To kids, it’s funny because it’s funny to teenagers.

So I dunno take your pick. Also marketing and sales people can be notoriously up their own ass and out of touch (see the Wendy’s “memer” commercial) so who knows why they do things

Could it be younger writers are now the age/career place where they can start putting unfamiliar content in?
