Look, they aren’t doing anything, I should cut their funding…oh shit that wasn’t good. I guess I’ll spend a third of our taxes on this.

No you cut the funding that goes to poor people, so when they start to revolt, you can use that savings to help fund your security to protect you from the angry poor people, and spend more on security then you would have spent just keeping the poor people happy.

This is what conservatives call, “fiscal responsibility”.

this is the worst part of conservativism; even if you were a complete asshole, the money it takes to clean up after someone steals something costs more than just making that available.

As I understand it to be, these guys are off duty and have no guns in their holsters and they’re getting paid by tesla. That’s how it usually works but I bet these cheques are signed by the feds.

Where I am, you can hire off duty officers as security. They’re just security guards in a police uniform. Maybe these guys are the new Stasi idk

Then they are all impersonation police officers and should be charged with federal crimes.

Can you impersonate a police officer if you work as one?

If Pepycito is right, they might be employed as police officers, but they’re not currently working as officers. I’m no expert on US law, so I don’t know if that actually counts as impersonation, but knowing the US it proposal doesn’t matter since it wouldn’t be enforced anyway.

the news for basically the next 4 years at least.

In the US, they are always cops, on duty or off. That’s why lots of places like hiring them for security. They can instantly arrest people, justified or not, and can often carry a gun where other people are not allowed to.

We have nothing resembling actual enforcement of law here.

A 3 year old was dumped at a hospital covered in bruises and died. Suspect not caught. But I feel safe knowing they’re out there protecting what matters

Good god, why are they standing so close to each other! Properly motivated person with nothing to loose could take them out and still do some serious damage to the building, just with a stolen truck.

Not sure if those are real cops. Long time desk workers maybe?

Would be extremely ironic if an overheating Cybertruck were to pull up in front of them.

        Oh, they’ll be driving them.

Must be fucking hilarious to stuff a big violent “customer” in the slanted back seat of a cybertruck.

Demand your mayor and city council stop supporting this shit. Why is tax money going to protect this shit?

I mean, sure, absolutely. Not sure he’s going to be able to hear me given the large crowd of police in between us. But I’ll try and get my mayor’s attention.

Why is tax money going to protect this shit?

Cause businesses like Tesla tip their elected reps generously.

You kidding? This is probably the best use of cops. Instead of harassing minorities they’ve created a human shield that will scare off people from purchasing Nazi mobiles.

If tax money is going to cops, they might as well be doing the job of a protest but more effectively.

I’d rather they not be used to defend billionaires. If this is what they spend their time doing then we could save some money in the budget by firing them.
