That was one of the biggest tragedies in recorded history. Do you even know what it did to the economy? It was like Black Monday on a 5x multiplier.

The World Trade Center, keyword TRADE. This isn’t pokemon shit, this is real-world stocks and dollars. The portfolios were ruined.

The next time you laugh at that, think about the human beings that had their vacation bonuses decimated that day. Think about how the economic blow made countries like China catch up to us. Just think about that.

If you wonder why I’m so fucking tired of capeshit movies, in particular reboots, one of the earliest modern capeshit movies was the Spider-Man one that had a trailer where a bad guy helicopter was caught in a web between the WTC towers. It had to be edited out as soon as P A T R I O T D A Y happened. no-oil

That is how old and tiresome capeshit is to me.

I remember Red Alert 2 having the box art changed, and patching out the bonus you got for destroying the WTC towers as Soviets.

You may destroy the two skyscrapers next to the Battle Lab for power up crates. The one on the right will promote a unit while the left crate will heal the unit to maximum health.

lmao I remember that. Spider Man 2 kind of went out of its way to overcompensate, with the shot of Spidey running with a big American flag behind him.

Culture at that time was just so strange. they put out a comic where Dr Doom was at the wreckage of the towers crying over it, as if he hadn’t literally done a hundred worse things in those comics.

Deus Ex didn’t have the Twin Towers in New York due to something about processing power or graphics demand. Remains funny to this day.

So you want all businessmen, firemen, EMTs/Paramedics, secretaries, receptionists, janitors to be executed because of their complicit support of capitalism and NATO imperialism?

There is a slight difference in quality between a working class person who took a job to help people, or do what they can to survive. Compared to a rich person who works in the world trade center doing marketing to make sure children get as much extra sugar in their diets as possible. Or someone who’s job it is to make sure bread costs slightly more so everyonecan suffer and a rich man can get a better yacht. Or any of countless other godawful things that makes the world worse. In an objective moral sense stopping them makes the world better. Each of those people will cause more harm any misery than they could ever justify. Maybe not in as dramatic a way as blowing up a building, but making billions of peoples lives worse and harder for decades will add up to far more harm done than than 9/11 caused. It does hurt to think about because in the west we have been denied any systematic moral or ethical education. A grumble in our tumbles when we think about huge things isn’t a sign of ethical understanding however.

Now, add to the fact that all those 2k who died had a genocide done in their memory and the situation become starkly clear.

It’s a pretty decent refutation of Great Man Theory. bin Laden was just a guy who had the right connections to get the attack plan rolling. The hijackers were just 19 random dudes, not commandos or spec ops. Their plan worked because it was a vector of attack that hadn’t been seriously considered and no one was really trying to defend against.

The worst thing about 9/11 is people want to make it into some kind of conspiracy or terrorist attack. The universe can’t just be a chaotic place where things randomly and arbitrarily happen. Planes can’t crash and it be a totally normal mechanical/atmospheric thing, even though these same people acknowledge that happens multiple times per year. It has to be some Scooby Doo mystery where 19 people “hijacked” planes or the bad guy of the week did it to be evil.

The collapse of the towers and the crashes weren’t causally related, it was just a really funny coincidence. These things happen. It’s a big universe.

      (3) You may then dispute that all the above does not justify aggression against civilians, for crimes they did not commit and offenses in which they did not partake:
      (a) This argument contradicts your continuous repetition that America is the land of freedom, and its leaders in this world. Therefore, the American people are the ones who choose their government by way of their own free will; a choice which stems from their agreement to its policies. Thus the American people have chosen, consented to, and affirmed their support for the Israeli oppression of the Palestinians, the occupation and usurpation of their land, and its continuous killing, torture, punishment and expulsion of the Palestinians. The American people have the ability and choice to refuse the policies of their Government and even to change it if they want.

When people pin the accidents on Osama bin Laden, that’s just sad to me. Boeing is to blame for whatever fault caused the accidents. Maybe the FAA.

Anybody could say that. I could say it right now. Does that mean I did 9/11? He just made up his involvement for clout, to get more clicks, people do stuff like that all the time.

I get how it might be psychologically comforting to find some bad actor you can point fingers at, but sometimes accidents happen. You can’t just blame Al Qaida or some other boogeyman every time you stub your toe.

Why did that happen? Why did that happen on September 11, that is my question…It’s because United States have been going over there trespassing, stealing their stuff… now they make it seem like they came over here and bombed us for nothing. How did the United States let this happen. How can you talk about my words when the big question is how can you let this happen.
