Bombardier CEO Eric Martel said on Monday he was concerned Washington could target the private planemaker’s U.S. contracts if Canada cancels a C$19 billion ($13.30 billion) deal for 88 Lockheed Martin F-35 fighter jets.

“Effectively, we could be targeted. This is my concern,” Martel told reporters in Montreal after a speech hosted by the Canadian Club.

In October, Montreal-based Bombardier announced the delivery of an eighth jet to the United States Air Force as part of a deal with a potential value of $465 million. The aircraft carry specialized communications platforms.

You would think they’d be smart enough to think about building Gripens under license, but unsurprisingly not.

So truth be told, I haven’t followed the Bombardier saga that much but from all the stories in the past 20 years, it seems incredibly mismanaged…

    Oh Fuck bombardier

A few years back when the Canadian dollar was higher than the US they refused to lower their Canadian prices. So people started crossing the boarder to buy on in the US. Bombardier told the dealerships in the US they would lose their dealership license if they sold one to a Canadian crossing boarder.

Around that time they also received a large government grant. Free cash and they still wanted to fuck Canada.

That’s just what corporations do. Could’ve been any other corporation.

      This Bombardier doesn’t have dealerships.

They made aircrafts and they haven’t had anything to do with BRP for like 12 years 23 years and sold off the transportation (rail) division about 5 years ago.

The US is not our friend. Bombardier should look for other markets and diversify.
