The Forbidding Unlawful Representation of Roleplaying in Education, or FURRIES, Act, filed by Austin-area Republican State Rep. Stan Gerdes, would “prohibit any non-human behavior by a student, including presenting himself or herself, on days other than exempt days, as anything other than a human being.”

The law would allow for exempt days, such as Halloween and other school dress-up days.

The law defines “non-human” behavior as “any type of behavior or accessory displayed by a student in a school district other than behaviors or accessories typically displayed by a member of the homo sapiens species,” with provided examples being:

Using a litter box for the passing of stool, urine or other human byproducts

A personal or outward display, except during a school play or by a school mascot, through surgical or superficial means of features that are non-human such as using tails, leashes, collars or other accessories designed for pets

Using fur, other than naturally occurring human hair or a wig made to look like human hair

Artificial, animal-like ears

Other physiological features that have not historically been assigned to the human race through a means of natural biological development

Students who bark, meow, hiss or make other animal noises that are not human speech

Licking oneself or others for the purpose of grooming or maintenance.

Should the government regulate space aliens in school too? Why not target the infinity of scenarios that never happens, or should we just skip straight to mandating that school is only for nazi salutes?

        that never happens

well, furries exist and are popular especially among younger people. I wouldn’t want my kid to be exposed to that

also, that fact that they explicitly named using a litterbox instead of a toilet as an expample is telling. with a law prohibiting this and similar things, nothing of value is lost

I wouldn’t want my kid to be exposed to that

Better never let your kids use the internet, then

As for the litterbox thing, it was a hoax:

if those things don’t exist, noone should have a problem with them being forbidden. it’d be like prohibiting you from travlling to the other end of the galaxy. why should you care?

And I don’t want my kid exposed to Mormons. Unfortunately, your rights end where my rights begin

If you wanted to protect your kids, you’d be opposing fascism not furries.

You’re just a bigot hiding behind your kids. You’ll fit right in with the fascists.

Whew so surgically implanted tails are still good for plays

They are obsessed with these things. I wonder why? Repressed desires, I say.

The problem is, this can affect kids following (do I even need to specify it) harmless trends like plushy overalls or hairbands with ears.

So, they are also obsessed with dominating kids and putting their fingers where they don’t belong.

Reminds me of this 43 year old song:

Laß doch die Kleinen in Ruh
Laß doch die Kleinen in Ruh
    du kuinierst mich so
    du alte Sau

edit: Full lyrics here. Definition of kuinieren.

Glad the tax dollars are being used for good old fashioned morals! I can remember in my day no one used their “imagination” as a crutch to groom others! Here here with the leadership we have been yearning for since them damn hippies took over and talked about clean energy and responsible corporate greed. I can’t remember the last time we had such a clear bearing going towards a future that is exactly like the past!
