You know there’s always been speculation about how much a Windows license costs but I guess now we know…

Is there really no difference between the steam version and the windows version? Or does the windows license really cost them $180? Cause as-is, it would be cheaper to buy the steam version and put your own windows license on it.

Hey, I have a SteamDeck and it’s running SteamOS. I’m just saying that IF you wanted windows, it wouldn’t make sense to buy it as a Windows device.

          Hmm okkk lol

But yea, that’s been true for decades now, if you could find an OEM that sold the model you wanted sans windows AND offered a discount for it it’d be about 100 bucks cheaper

Haven’t bought my Linux handheld yet, but I still think I’m gonna go with a used LCD steam deck. Still, I’m keeping my eyes open if it appears that the Legion Go S could be a good alternative.

From an owner of an OLED deck that I’ve used almost everyday for the past year on a plethora of games, I would recommend going for the lower end Go S steam version (if you’re going for the budget route).

The OLED is showing it’s age even with lesser demanding games since older games still update their graphics and such over time. Unless you’re going to solely use it for 2D platformer style games. The LCD deck is a slightly less powerful version.

I’m holding out for the Go 2 and hoping there’s official steamos support.

It seems Windows is having issues, I’m hoping that the linux version is more stable. Its already a lot cheaper, so getting two upps would be nice.
