They would be worried about their own Nazis more if that were the case. I’ll take the help but lord they are not ok right now.

As a German, I think we should just, for one last great hooray, use all our engineering and science skills into building nukes that will reach their target before the other side can even get their’s off the ground. Then we should nuke the whole US and Russia, which will make the world uninhabitable. I know I know nobody will win, but that means people like Trump, Putin, Musk, Erdogan also won’t.

The German government is one of the most suppressive in the western world in regards to protests against a literal genocide happening right now in Gaza. A genocide legally labeled as such by institutions erected as a result of Germany’s genocide. Branding wise, Germany is extremely progressive, but in principle and practice, it is extremely sad to see how little Germany has come along.

Kinda loses its sting given how many years Germans have been making floats of Trump like this, though. Good sentiment, but I wish it amounted to something.

Not to say it’s a waste of time or they shouldn’t do this, but I’m just tired, boss.

Here’s the thing, tRUMP and his cronies want you to be tired of it. They want you to say ‘meh, this does nothing’. They want you to accept it and move on wearily. Once enough people are worn down by it all then it will become normal and accepted.

That is how the convicted criminal and rapist ‘wins’.

You’re not wrong but I’d also look at it from the perspective of “We’ve been making statements like this for years now and the situation has only gotten worse, so what else should we be doing?” Status quo isn’t really just the result of people giving up, it’s about things remaining the same (or worse) even after trying, so what else should be tried?

Action. Stop trying to play nice and talk it through and start burning things down.

Then again it’s easy for me to say this as I am not American. I don’t live in America, and no longer want to visit America.
I’m just a guy who fucking hates that fat orange turd and wishes him dead. Even better would’ve been prison.

If I was locked up in a room with a gun and one bullet and there was Hitler and tRUMP inside with me then Hitler would survive. Or I’d shoot Hitler and beat Mango Mussolini with the gun.

Yes, and a parade float will totally change things.

They’ll just keep waiting for their trains that are somehow always late despite German reputation for efficiency.

The image is what it is: Trump being spitroasted like a fat greasy pig.

It could be a play on “eat the rich” or a form of tortuous death wished upon him or even an overtly offensive depiction of him. Or even something else.

It’s art, one way or another, and art is for the consumer to wonder about and, hopefully, at.

Yeah, probably. Maybe they are the flames of hell, or symbolic of the MAGA movement scorching USian norms, or the fire of hate burning out of control etc.

It can mean what you want it to mean.

Or you can just look at it and go: “Ha ha. Funny.”

      no

Israel didn’t exist yet during WW2, it was just a British colony. Now it’s an independent state, and still perpetuates colonialism against arabs. No role switched at any point.

Germany is the second biggest supporter of Israel right after the US. They didn’t switch with Israel, they are firmly on the same side.

I think the person you replied to meant in terms of persecution. Germany went after the Jews now they’re against that ideology. We see the current Jewish area that is Israel persecuting others. Role reversal, you would think they would treat others better after everything but that’s not the case!

If we had a two party system in Germany we’d be just as fucked as the US rn but people here aren’t ready to hear it.

Painfully true. The people who didn’t vote in protest of Biden/Harris to allow a guy in that would do exactly what they were made at Biden for but far worse is so frustrating. I get it, they weren’t perfect, but damn. Demanding your leaders be better or else we’ll unleash the nazi authoritarian on ourselves is wild.

Yeah I mean he won the popular vote with less total votes than what he got in 2016 where he didn’t manage to win it. It’s wild. But ultimately maybe something like this was inevitable. The US government is extremely easy to dismantle compared to most others since the president holds so much power. And no president would change the system to become less powerful.

We had 84ish% participation US had 64%ish(?) Additionally we had 29% for conservatives, which would be the people in the US voting rep eventhough they would not admit to directly supporting Trump. The gap is smaller than it seems, though plurality in the political system (multiple parties, not winner takes it all) relaxes the situation quite a bit.

They are arresting Jews for being against Jews?

Do you mean arresting German Jewish religious folks for being against Israeli Jewish religious folks?

I think the Jewish part cancels eachother out, so it’s just German folks being against Israeli folks.

Protesting Israel in Germany is legally antisemitic even if you are Jewish. Many German Jews have been protesting Israels genocide and were arrested for antisemitism.

The line “Grease the guillotine with the tyrants fat” from Heckerlied seems REALLY fitting here.
