I honestly don’t understand why people are protesting this way. Most Tesla owners bought their car before they knew Elon was that kind of crazy, myself included. The value of my Tesla has dropped below what I owe, and selling it would hurt me financially, but then at the same time it would provide a really great deal for a conservative that really supports Trump/Musk.

The most effective protest would be to not buy a new one and not sell your current one. Lack of used Tesla’s available would mean used price goes up, but then lack of new sales would mean new price would need to go down. There will always be people buying a new Tesla, but low sales would hurt the stock price and lower cost would hurt the profit margin.

I did test drive the new model Y. I like it, but I wouldn’t get FSD because it’s dangerous. I like that it’s one of the most American made vehicles. I’m not going to buy it because of Elon.

You can’t put people in jail for not selling or buying a Tesla. Why not just protest that way?

I can help connect the dots. I imagine its because if car buyers are scared their new tesla will go up in flames, they wont buy a tesla, tesla will go under, and elon wont be as rich.

In terms of villainy this is nothing compared to the stuff Musk and Trump are doing, so if I was in a jury judging one of the vandals of tesla I would probably let them go (unless they hurt someone in the act).

At the end of the day its just a car. A piece of property. Consumer junk. This is vandalism, like spray painting a wall. Its not like the vandals are cutting social securty and starving people or sending ammunition to Israel to kill civilians.

I’d buy one for cheap used so that Elon doesn’t get any money from me.

However, if I’m going to upgrade my hybrid to an electric, it’s probably going to be an Ioniq 5.

I’d buy one if Musk was ousted. Despite what the internet would have you believe, they’re pretty decent cars and there’s still not really a lot of competition if you look at it dollar for dollar. But as long as Musk had any say in the company I absolutely wouldn’t buy one.

I’d definitely take one for free.

Immediately sell it to carmax or carvana or wherever.

The money from even one of the older ones would do me a lot of good even with the trade in value of all teslas cratering right now.

If I was gifted one I’d host a smash the Tesla neighborhood party.

      Free admission, sledgehammers provided.

I’d take one for free - I don’t and never have had a driver’s license, though.

Maybe I could set it on FSD beside a lake and film it confidently drowning itself. I’m sure I’d find something useful to do with it.

I wonder if we can build a secondary market for lightly used tesla components and electrify a bunch of classic vehicles instead.

I’d love to electrify my old element.

I Would fucking love an affordable EV kit for Jeep wrangler TJs. While we’re dreaming, Honda Goldwings/Valkyries also, though that couldn’t start from a Tesla. I really want an electric motorcycle with a more classic road bike look instead of a sport bike.

I already decided against them when I bought a vehicle in 2022 because he was being a dickbag trying to back out of his deal to buy twitter.

    No.

But to be clear, somewhere over the last 20 years it seems I’ve also fallen out of the middle class? I bought a new car fresh out of college, and then again about 10 years later. But I look at the price of new cars today, and they’re simply not a purchase I can afford. So, it looks like I’m not going to be buying any new cars anymore, Tesla or otherwise. That feels weird.
