I’m up in Canada and from the news broadcasts, we seldom have a clue what Americans actually think.

I keep complaining that your people aren’t doing much but seeing protest images like this are giving us hope. Keep marching, we’re cheering for you!

Much of the US media has fully capitulated to trump so we are less likely to see stuff like this. Americans want to protest their anger with the administration but it they do no know where to place their energy. This is due to many reasons such as the general passivity of Americans and the size of an America. The fact that it got to this point is extremely important. Thanks for your support and sorry that Americans are silly and complex creatures.

If you want to help in Canada, there are also Tesla Takedown protests growing there. That and make sure to vote in your upcoming elections to avoid having the same senario play out in Canada that happened in the US

Edit: and to clarify, the Tesla Takedown protests are global, not limited to the US and Canada. It’s growing in Europe and elsewhere too

Madison is an amazing place in so many ways. I love this town!

What surprised me is how many other huge protests there were. Thanks to everyone, everywhere, who participated or supported the efforts.

          Thanks for acknowledging it, genuinely.

Part of the reason for the apparent inaction in the US (other than its size and resulting sprawl of its population) is that many of us are in very fragile financial situations for decades now. We have to risk losing jobs, and thus our healthcare and housing, to mount protests this large in this many places.

That’s why we could protest for George Floyd during 2020, many were unemployed by the pandemic and we got a taste of free healthcare (even if it was just 1 vaccine) and working from home (which saved us thousands in commuting costs and time).

There’s a reason CEOs and the rich want us back in offices. We need to be kept on the edge of bankruptcy to be kept quiet. Hopefully this tariff, which is really just a massive tax on the poor, encourages the economic change we need. That’s the only possible outcome we can hope for.
