Usually I’d feel pity for someone being cyberbullied, but Elon told me that’s a sign of weakness, so fuck him.

    Transcript:

Elon Musk rage quit a livestream of the video game Path of Exile 2 on Saturday night after repeatedly dying while also being ruthlessly cyberbullied in the chat.

Path of Exile 2 is one of Musk’s favorite games—so much so that he once claimed to be one of the world’s top players in an attempt to boost his gamer cred, before later backtracking and admitting that he had been secretly paying people to level up his account to make him appear more talented at it than he was.

Nevertheless, while attempting to show off Starlink’s in-flight WiFi capabilities while onboard his private jet over the weekend, Musk streamed himself playing some PoE2 on the hardest difficulty, which was broadcast live on X.

The DOGE chief was, predictably, terrible at the game, but that was the least of his problems—Less than five minutes into the stream, a player logged on and asked Musk if he could “please jerk off mr trump so he dies of a heart attack.” It only got worse from there.

For the next hour and a half, Musk sat in stony-faced silence and blasted techno music while dozens of users with names such as ELON_IS_A_PEEDOPHILE and ELON_MUSK_IS_PATHETIC repeatedly spammed the chat to tell him “YOU HAVE NO FRIENDS AND YOU WILL DIE ALONE” and “YOU WILL ALWAYS FEEL INSECURE AND IT WILL NEVER GO AWAY.”

It’s me, Ashley St. Claire. I have no other means of contacting you so I bought PoE2 early access. Please pay your child support. Thank you Elon,” said an account pretending to be the conservative influencer currently locked in a custody battle with Musk over their five-month-old child, while another said his estranged daughter Vivian “was right” about him being terrible at video games.

Some streamers attempted to help Musk out by trying to show him how to mute the chat function, while others encouraged people to “Buy TSLA” and thanked him for his work with Starlink and DOGE, but they were drowned out by a cavalcade of abuse from gamers relished the opportunity to give the billionaire a piece of their mind.

WHAT HAPPENED BUDDY?”

But aside from muting a couple of the loudest trolls after almost an hour of sustained abuse, Musk did little to stop the army of trolls from relentlessly mocking him.

Eventually, he vanished when his WiFi connection abruptly cut out and ended the stream, which he later deleted from X but was swiftly reuploaded onto YouTube.

This is hilarious mainly because all he had to do was type /DND and he could have stopped all of this, which anyone who had actually played the game for any substantial amount would know, but of course he doesn’t, because he just paid people to play it for him.

It is sad, because so obvious that he wants to accepted, and liked.

All he’d have to do is help poor people. Kid’s school lunches, scholarships, playgrounds, libraries, low cost subsidized housing, cheap pharmaceuticals, you name it.

But no, “Empathy is Weakness,” Nazi salutes, fucking up grandma’s Social Security, destroying the Dept. of Education, putting thousands of government workers out of jobs.

        Way to go, psychopath.

Is it really “cyberbullying” against Musk if Musk first negatively affected the lives and livelihoods of, say, millions of people?

Yes. And it is still harmful. But there is no good solution here. He should be able to play a mostly single player game in some isolation from the public. (I.e. put DND on and be “fine” but hated, possibly the game should have made that easier for streamers being flooded by spam.)

That being said the harm being done in America is incredibly impactful and must be stopped at high cost.

He could have played alone. HE DECIDED to steam himself publicly, after spending the last two months actively trying to destroy those people’s futures. All for personal gain. He does not deserve to know a moment of peace whenever he chooses to show his face publicly after what he’s done.

He’s always been an asshole, but his reported ketamine addiction compounds with his Twitter addiction. The ketamine allows his brain to reform pathways and Twitter boxes him into a self-made echo chamber. Combined this is the perfect recipe for a god complex, and boy does that prediction fit the observed outcome.

It astounds me that a middle aged man, who can literally afford anything, do anything, go anywhere, is so fragile emotionally that he craves adulation from absolute strangers. Particularly teenage boys, which emotionally, he is also.

As a wise man recently said,

They tried to rig the game, but you can’t fake influence.

Money can buy everything but it can’t buy respect. Nobody respects Musk getting to level 90+ in SSF HC PoE2 because he just bought his way there. Nobody respects him on Twitter, because he bought his way there. Nobody respects Tesla, because (say it with me kids) he bought his way there.

Money can absolutely buy respect the problem is fuckwad is too stupid to know how, for example he could bankroll building functional replicas of historic vehicles and weapons for museums which would earn him some respect. That’s assuming he doesn’t want to help the poor and build public libraries like Rockefeller or Carnegie.

You’re both right - spending tons of money just to build influence does not buy you respect, but investing your money in something that contributes to the greater good does. Unfortunately for Elon, this requires good intentions and substantial effort, neither of which he possesses. So, he bought an epic gamer account to brainwash the most vulnerable members of society into believing he’s some kind of 22nd century technogenius! Seriously, what the fuck is actually wrong with this man???

What gets me is that he has the means to become the most beloved man in history pretty much on a whim. I can’t even begin to comprehend the amount of good he could do by dumping half his fortune into good causes, which would still leave him with orders of magnitude more money than he’d need to buy/do whatever the fuck he wants with.

The attention he craves is right there. But he chooses instead to be a villain. Why?? Be a fucking superhero - even if it’s for completely selfish reasons, humanity won’t give shit.

      I don’t get it.

If I randomly obtained a billion dollars, let alone hundreds of billions, I’d spend the rest of my life riding a warm-and-fuzzy high. Helping people feels good!

The thing is, you don’t become a billionaire if you have empathy. If you’re a normal kind of person who likes helping other people, you start giving away your money long before you hit $1B.

In a functioning society, we wouldn’t have to rely on the “philanthropy” of rich people to fund good causes. It should not be possible for one person to hoard so much wealth that they get to personally decide which issues get ignored.

From what I understand, Musk was under investigation from multiple federal US agencies for malfeasance, I don’t know for what, but he got involved to make those investigations go away. Then he got addicted to being in charge after buying The Presidency.

Because, as we all know, narcissists love being in charge, and adulation.

And why is he being an asshole, when he could be generous and beneficent, and get the adulation he craves? Because he thinks he’s superior, and like he said, empathy is weakness, He is unable to understand, or feel empathy.

Right? I wouldn’t be trying to pretend to be King Shit in a game I don’t even know how to play, I’d make my own game with black jack and hookers, hookers who are voiced by Jack Black. That’s right I’m casting a cisman in the role of a sexy cisfemale character and there’s not even a joke or a bit to it. The character is not implied to be trans and there’s not even a transphobic quip about it, I just got Jack Black to voice a woman because I could, because I’ve got fuck you money… And if the ESRB or Gabe Newell didn’t like it, I’d start an alternative to Steam that actually works.

Fair, they should ban accounts that they have verified he bought, is this one he’s streaming with the same one?

                  And again:

they do not id their users so even if they banned the richest man’s one account I’m betting he could afford another

I dunno. If I had a game, I’d put “no billionaires” in the Eula. There’s way worse stuff in most eulas anyway.

        They can.

        By shunning, and shaming him.

Ostracization, or for the dumb “Cancelling,” has worked since Ancient Greece, and longer.

Ftfy. The community can, and according to this post is doing a good job of it (which I’m happy about). But the game devs can’t anymore than you can. Should I be angry at you for not being in that stream ostracizing him?

Reminder: He died to a Tutorial Boss in a game he tried to use a boosted account in to fake being one of the top players only for the devs to go “Wait, aren’t you a top Diablo IV player? Either you have the time management skills of a God and are the top player in multiple games, or you’re bullshitting… and guess what’s the winning one.”

It’s such a weird thing to do. He’s in his fifties. He has a bunch of companies and a bunch of kids. If he was a top ranked POE player would you respect him more or would ypu respect him less because he was shirking his duties to work and family to crush mobs?

Maybe if we all just start referring to this as “the gas leak season” while we’re in it we can break the 4th wall and escape whatever the fuck this supposed reality is.

I’ve never played the game, but I’ve read others say the game is Dark Souls hard, and it’s not uncommon to die in the tutorial.

      That said, fuck Musk

Path of exile is hard, but not at the start. Even on the first play through, most people are clearing the first boss without death. On subsequent play through you shouldn’t ever die. Elon has never actually played the game, so he has no clue.

It’s also not even close to as hard as Dark Souls. No Rest for the Wicked is more souls like ARPG.

          I believe you.

I just don’t care. I’m just stating that Musk sucking wasn’t unusual at a hard game.

That said, again, fuck him. And his pathetic attempt to hang with kids for attention, being a middle aged grown man.

The unusual part is not that he sucked, but that he was presenting himself as a top player (because he bought an account).

Like, if I hand the controller to someone who’s never played Demon Souls and they get wrecked by the first few skeletons or wev, that makes sense. If someone brags about being among the top Demon Souls players in the world, and they can’t make it through the first level, that’s odd.

Most of us grow out of thinking our skills at video games have much significance or bearing on our self image, so it’s very odd to see an adult that feels the need to lie about their competence at a video game. If instead of buying an account and pretending to be a top player, he had been honest - “hey y’all, just going to show off Starlinks ability to stream by checking out PoE2!” - well, at most people might be making fun of him for taking time to play video games instead of running the dozen companies he supposedly does, but it wouldn’t be this pathetic.

You would delight in watching him nearly cry for being insulted by Tim Walz about all the money this fuck has lost because of his behavior.
