I’ve been using a 3rd party client to access posts on Lemmy. I loved the experience back when Reddit allowed 3rd party apps. But I felt the feed was a bit…one sided.

I figured it was just because I was new to Lemmy, but then I sorted posts by New.

Nothing but trans anime porn. It’s like the only people that came to Lemmy were the people that got kicked out of Reddit circles because all they could think about was trans anime porn.

Maybe I signed up on the wrong instance? But I don’t think that’s the problem.

How are so many people trying to treat Lemmy as a balanced alternative to Reddit?

What the fuck?!

It’s been months since I blocked all the individual instances that post things like that, I never see it. But yeah not surprised it’s still there. Lemmy blocklists should be a thing, would make the new user experience much more endurable. Last I checked I have over 800 communities blocked and dont miss any of them.

I’d imagine the typical Lemmy user to be an American college/university student. I haven’t personally noticed any trans leaning in the content here but anime/hentai definitely is disporpotionately represented.

It’s heavily dependent on your instance. It kinda sucks to be honest sometimes.

All I can suggest is making liberal use of the block community function.

Because I’m kinda infamous here, I’m one of like 3 conservatives here and I have a habit of browsing /all.

People like to downvote everything I say, I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s botted at this point

I have yet to see any anime porn. True story. I don’t seek it out, so there could be that. I also hate memes, believe it or not. They like…fuck with my brain. So I try to stay away from them. PieFed is best for this kind of stuff. I made an account just to try to filter out more. Maybe check it out? Reddit sucks shit, by the by. So you know, I think in this situation having nothing might be better than having to be on either a) Reddit or b) Seeing a bunch of stuff you don’t want.

Have your main account set to filter out NSFW to avoid that content. Also, there is absolutely no shortage of that content on reddit lmao. At least when I was there anyway.

I’ll be completely honest, i have read a decent number of people say they have the same issue with Lemmy, tons and tons of porn.

My experience has been vastly different. I occasionally have some nudes posts pop up but only about once a month at most. It very rarely is more than top less and is never hard-core or kinky.

I don’t know what I did to seemingly make my experience this way.

I’ve thought about blocking the instance you’re on. Lots of garbage from that instance.

Mine is not that. There was lots of porn, hentail, and tranny nudes showing in new at first, but I blocked those communities, its been good since.

Edit, sorry my bad the group w as Transy not Tranny

Yeah, unless you’re talking about transmissions pulled out and leaking fluid allll over the pavement like a dirty, dirty power transfer whore, tranny isn’t an ideal word choice nowadays. Which, if you’re using some of that sexy, slippery fluid to pleasure yourself while flipping through c/hotmopartrannies, carry on.

It was never exactly a good word to use, though it wasn’t as widely known that it was predominantly used in a derogatory manner back in the eighties and early nineties when it got more common in usage.

But nowadays, the only people that use it regularly are bigots, so if you aren’t one, and you use it, chances are that people will assume the worst, what with the worst often being the case.

But, you know, if you’ve got any pics of a Muncie m20 just sitting around, you know, maybe don’t Bogart that shit

There was a yiff.net or something instance that I had to block when I first joined. It wasn’t really that popular I think it just had bots posting furry stuff from deviantart. It’s not that hard to clean up your feed.

You must be using the All Trans Anime Porn All the Time app.

I just use Firefox for Android and sort by New by default and I don’t recall seeing any trans anime porn. Ever.
