What I find so annoying is how there are so many people (outside of this platform) who are just shocked and devastated about this news. I am over here like…the man is in his eighties. He is an elderly man. We should not be that surprised about some illness popping up at that age.
I wish him ease of his suffering in direct proportion to how much he eased innocent Palestinians suffering. Seems only fair.
This guy wanted another term this time last year.

With the release of his interviews over having classified materials it’s clear to me that he wasn’t making his own decisions and if he thought he was still competent and capable that’s because the people around him were lying to him and telling he was. He was clearly at a point where he could no longer accurately assess those kind of things about himself, and was thus relying on outside input. When that outside input is enabling the idea that he is competent, that’s not the fault of a man on the edge of senility.

You can’t really predict stage 4 cancer in your life plans, but it was clear to anyone paying attention that he was not fit for the office anymore.

I really thought we were gonna Weekend at Bernie’s, this last election, and wheel that man into the Oval Office even if he had the remaining cognitive ability of a houseplant - because such an administration would still be better than the alternative. But, I was wrong, and here we all are.
Voters needed more than that because it’s so hard to believe that the death of the American was a vote away. They couldn’t comprehend the existential horrors of fascism when the suffering of liberalism was already untenable. Things were way worse than most wanted to admit, and only now that things are unprecedented will they feel a harsher plunge into the nightmare future we were already destined for.
The world is gonna be unstable compared to the past 80 years for quite a while, and empires will once again trump capitalism as the greatest evil the world has to offer. We might see nuclear war, mass famine, disasters with no organized relief. We will see climate catastrophe, horrendous pollution, regular violence, and an end of safety for everyone on earth. Not even the ultra rich will be safe, as their wealth is meaningless without a state. Protecting it yourself with violence is a far worse deal for your own safety, as now you’re competing with other feudal lords as well. No real winning anymore.
This is why after 60, I’m not going to try to be president. I’m retiring. Guy spent the last few good years he had stressed out running the country when he should’ve been playing bingo and sitting on a beach.

This morning while driving to work I heard on NPR that doctors recommend screenings for people between 50 and 60 years of age. The guy said that older people like 70’s and 80’s have more problems and I missed exactly what the reasoning other than aggravating them with one more problem was for not screening that group actively.
But you and I know. Its simple! 50 and 60 year olds are still working do they got money. 80 year olds don’t have money. No reason to screen them. Sure the treatments work…kinda sorta. But the treatments are expensive. So if you’re 80 its not important that they find your cancer because they can’t make money from you. If you’re well to do, then sure, we can try our methods. But if you got no money, there’s no point. What are you going to do anyway with no job and no money. Even if you could pay, then what? Sell the car and house and live on the streets? Would that be worse? Not really the doctors don’t care if they got paid. Its all about the money.
I wish Joe well. Terrible thing to have to deal with.

I always love the cognitive dissonance people have seeing others hope that a man directly responsible for a metric ton of civilian deaths, succumbing to a painful death, is not ethically correct.
I mean people seem to have zero issue with United Healthcare. Exorbitant Healthcare costs is the equivalent of death, but literally bombing hospitals and refugee camps isn’t?
Not to mention that he’ll be receiving the latest and greatest in medical aid anyway, so there’s a fair chance he’ll survive. A lot of geriatric asshat world leaders contracted covid and still lived.
