@kirschner @fdroid Unciv. There are other apps of course, but that one is my most favorite.
@rvansleen
Have not seen that before. Looks nice (also interesting to read the FAQs there)!
@fdroid
Not an everyday favorite but a potential life-saver: EtchDroid for creating bootable Linux USB drives. Allowed me to fix a laptop which wasn’t booting in the middle of a holiday.

Is it better than DB app?
@salman Öffi can navigate you through all public transport and doesn’t track you, so in a way, yes. It’s amazing - try it! @guerda @kirschner @fdroid
@datenritter @guerda @kirschner @fdroid
Cool! I will give it a try.
@salman
#oeffi and #transportr are really great apps I have used for many years.
@datenritter @guerda @fdroid
Kdeconnect, infinityforlemmy.nightly
dnsfilter.android
@A10 Thanks! KDEconnect can be really powerful.
Some useful features I use, clipboard sharing. File sharing, media controls, remote input, PC shortcuts sleep, brightness Ctrl.
@kirschner @fdroid
- Amethyst, a client for the free/open #Nostr protocol
- @delta, a chat app using #email with support for #Autocrypt standard
- @AntennaPod podcast player
- Voice, for playing #DRM-free audiobooks
- KreptEY, keyboard for #e2ee communication using any messenger
- Rethink: DNS + Firewall
- Fast Shopping, old but beautiful gold.@islamicaudiobooks @kirschner @fdroid @delta @AntennaPod naive question, what’s krept-ey?
@brokenix @kirschner @fdroid @delta @AntennaPod A keyboard app that encrypts messages which you can then send with any app.
https://github.com/amnesica/KryptEY@islamicaudiobooks @brokenix @fdroid @delta @AntennaPod Thanks for pointing out KryptEY
@kirschner @islamicaudiobooks @fdroid @delta @AntennaPod yes except that I ve no contact , who want to do an encrypted chat with me outside #signal
This could be on my for not using it in a way, which is convenient for others.
It has happened , when I encrypted my twitter DM , emails with #gpg , without fully understanding gpg and I had to step back from that. #keyoxide has brought some hope , but I am yet to get there, where I can use it efficiently even for work
@islamicaudiobooks @kirschner @fdroid @delta @AntennaPod vi music , rethink is amazing. Kryptey is cool too , except that idk how to disable vibration for tapping ut. Thats a drain , is there a clear reason to why is this tricky? Ir i should just recheck settings?
@brokenix @islamicaudiobooks @fdroid @delta @AntennaPod Thanks. Did not know (or forgot) about rethink.
@kirschner @islamicaudiobooks @fdroid @delta @AntennaPod there too

@BanditRun90s
Thanks for that. Did not know about it.
@fdroid
Obtainium. For all those cool apps you find on GitHub, GitLab, FDroid, Izzy, APKPure, and more. In some cases you can add your own links and it’ll try to scrape them for APKs for app updates
@Jailbrick3d This is not (yet?) available in #Fdroid is it?
You can get it if you’ve enabled the IzzyOnDroid repo

@kirschner @fdroid for me, probably the most useful (after maps which has already been covered) is mail. I would recommend https://k9mail.app/.
I use it for work daily and it gets updated regularly.
@kirschner @fdroid I’ll try harder then :)
#Owncloud client https://owncloud.com/
We use it to connect to our own server for storing receipts, plane tickets, company documentation etc. It’s great to keep things synced between devices.A similar thing is #syncthing, which is cross platform although I don’t have a use case for it at the moment, sadly. https://syncthing.net
@kirschner
My Expenses, NewPipe, Open Note Scanner, Catima, ConnectBot, Earmouse, FairEmail, KeePassDX, SicMu Player, Street Complete, Termux, VLC, Wikipedia and those are just my favourites
@fdroid@kirschner
To use the smartphone’s camera as a scanner, with the convenience of having pictures converted into 1bit depth (B/W with no grey scale), lightening them a lot.
@fdroidCiao Gabriele! Thank you for this suggestion, the only problem is that this app, I’ve seen, that has no longer been updated. Does it still work fine?
@toketin
Yes, I still use it ;)
Ever hear of KiwiX? You can use it to browse Wikipedia articles without data. It also works with some other sites as well
