No, no, no. You must convert them to DSD512 to fully enjoy them.
If you want true high quality, you need to first convert them to 48bit 96Hz wav files, and then have them etched onto vinyl because analog isn’t lossy like digital is, even without compression.
That’s why I blow up any jpegs I want to save on a projector onto a 5m screen and trace them to get better than original quality. Come visit my museum if you’d like to check out some sweet memes (because I refuse to ruin my effort by re-digitizing them).

Supposedly career lawyers will just jump ship and contest literally anything that might have even a chance of sticking. Regardless on wether they actually want to go to court, there is basically zero downsides to making legal threats and those lawyers feel like they are paid for doing exactly that.
Mojang contacted Bethesda and they settled the matter through a counter strike game.
Personally i believe mojang did the math and saw that regardless of any outcome this was an opportunity for free publicity for the new game.
I fully agree such claim are ridiculous and actually intellectual property is one step away from thought police but in this specific scenario there was no victim, damage or harm.

Lossy codecs like Opus have their uses but they don’t sound the same as lossless. Though I do agree Opus sounds better than .mp3 and .m4a.

Half of my library is encoded with libopus, it compresses better and retains quality at lower bitrates. The other half is not opus yet because I can’t be bothered to hunt for flacs to convert, since lossy->lossy conversion degrades the data…
Okay but lossless to lossy also degrades the quality.
Picture this: You take a sheet of pristine A4 paper (lossless), you crumple it up to reduce size (mp3), then you attempt to uncrumple it and carefully fold it to reduce size (opus). Your sheet still has that uneven texture due tu crumpling. Or, you take the pristine sheet, and just carefully fold it multiple times. In both cases it is deformed and can never be lossless again, but folded paper still has more quality, and takes less space.
