American-style intensive livestock farms are spreading across Europe, with new data revealing more than 24,000 megafarms across the continent.

The countries with the largest number of intensive poultry farm units are France, UK, Germany, Italy and Poland in that order.

      That’s a shame

I’m quite surprised. Afaik, there should be higher supply of bio farm produces? Don’t know what’s happened.

There’s a whole list of problems with factory farms, at the same time though, food shortages are worse. The US has proven they’re more than happy to create and sustain a genocidal famine. And even if not that severe, the trade war alone is reason enough to make sure you’re producing enough food.

meat production is intrinsically wasteful. There are way more calories getting into factory farms than out.

And yet still more efficient than lab grown meat. More steel goes into a factory than is in the parts coming out too, doesn’t mean we shut down the factories.

why on earth compare it to lab grown meat? environmentally wise meat is always worse than plant based alternatives. not to mention it also is health wise and ethics wise.

Disappointing. I’ll always prefer farms that treat their animals well, even if their meat costs twice as much.

This is what I look for, even if it’s twice as expensive. Or “raised on independent family farms”. I hope it really means something, and isn’t just marketing.
