Not the people, but didn’t a Palestinian group attack a concert dropping from parachutes? Then Israel ran with that to drop bombs on innocent children, iirc.

They’re the one being sponsored not the one sponsoring others

However as a UN recognized member they are committing war crimes not terrorism

Israel is an extension of US foreign policy, it’s much more than being sponsored by the US like Al Qaeda. Israel also does work with and sponsor the likes of ISIS and Al Qaeda. They are committing war crimes and terrorism, just as a state actor instead of a non-state actor

It doesn’t seem like we’re in any real disagreement here so it’s all good, Free Palestine

just as a state actor instead of a non-state actor

This is the difference between these two

                war crimes and terrorism

                But we are in agreement

Step 1: Accuse nation of having nukes

Step 2.1: If they do not have nukes, invade them and dont even apologise for the death of hundreds of thousands

Step 2.2: If they acquired nukes by the time you accused them, sanction them to shit and use media to turn the land into a dystopian hellscape akin to North Korea or worse

Step 3: Create puppet regime if they ever fall, replace leaders with those that support laissez-faire

Zionist Corporate media framing this as a “preemptive strike” is Orwellian bullshit.

Why do you need “Zionist corporate” in that post? Any media calling this a “preemptive strike” are pushing a bs narrative.

Because corporate media in the West, especially the US and UK complies with Zionist talking points.

And? What about non-Zionist non-corporate sources that back the same narrative? Would you see that as any different?

Non corporate i.e. independent news tends to have clearer perspectives on the genocide and Zionism’s malign influence in domestic and international politics

One example is not adopting Zionist talking points and perspectives (e.g. rapes, beheaded babies), without critical analysis or framing October 7th in the context of the Zionist regime’s occupation of Palestine. Something Corporate media deliberately obfuscates.

Corporate media uses rhetorical shielding like the use of the passive “Palestinians killed in bombings” to avoid blaming Israel or “Hamas run health ministry” to discredit casualty reports.

Another issue is that they also fail to report what Israelis actually tell their people (“fighting human animals”, “babies are targets”) and rather rely on carefully scripted official responses in English.

Yet another issue is that they do not mention ICC arrest warrants on Netanyahu and Smotrich, or that Israel is on trial for genocide at the ICJ, or Indeed that western countries are ignoring the genocide convention which obliges them to sanction Israel and instead are actively arming and supporting it.

They omit so much given what’s on social media and elsewhere that it has never been more obvious that Western media’s role is to act as interlocutor and propagandist for the Empire.

Trump got out of the Iranian nuclear deal in his first term specifically so either Israel and/or the USA would have a “reason” to attack and go to war.

Doesn’t Iran regularly shoot missiles and drones at Israel? I’m not really up to speed but I’m sure there was something about an Iron Dome?

I might be wrong in this, but I’m pretty sure it’s exceedingly rare for Iran to directly fire missiles at Israel, it’s usually Iran-supplied proxies doing it (such as Hezbollah). It’d be like making the argument that anyone at war with a US backed nation/faction has a carte blanche to attack America

Right, so go on and support genocidal Israel, because it’s soooo much better than authoritarian Iran.

Both are awful, but playing the centrist here doesn’t cut it. Picking indifference is pretty much the same as picking the imperialist side, aka it’s the same as supporting Israel and the US but instead of cheering them on you just sit on the fence and watch.

For those of us that live in The West™ the only thing we can change is the things our governments can influence. Thus, the only change we can enact as a population for the situation in the Middle East is the change that takes form by pressuring our own governments (and thus pressuring allied US and allied Israel) into stopping the madness. Going out and about and moaning about Iran is just useless posturing that won’t lead do anything. Our governments are already trying to destroy Iran as is, what does me moaning about whatever Iran does even change? It’s still the same shit.

And besides that, it’s not even our business to enact regime change in Iran. Let their own people deal with it however they see fit. We’re not savior knights in shining armors going around and helping people anyway. We’ve seen what kind of shit our governments have stirred up in the Middle East and North Africa before. We’ve only made everything worse for the people there.

                I actually think we agree.

Netanyahu and Khamenei are hateful men that use hate to hold on to power - each in their own way. They embody “Some of you are going to die but that is a sacrifice I am willing to make”.

After about a year and a half of genocide in Gaza westerners were finally waking up and their leaders finally started to put pressure on Israel. Missiles in to Iran was a distraction and Khamenei took the bait - not because he is stupid but because he cares more about fanning nationalist flames in Iran than he does about the suffering people of Gaza.

Iran said it was retaliation for the Israeli bombing of the Iranian embassy in Damascus on 1 April,[17] which killed two Iranian generals.

Iran claimed that the attack was an act of “self-defense”[19][20] in retaliation for Israel’s assassinations of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran, Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah, and IRGC general Abbas Nilforoushan.

Does it change anything if both of those attacks were after an Iranian embassy was bombed and an assassination in Iran’s capital took place?

No, because apparently Israel is allowed to step over the territorial integrity and sovereignty of any country, conduct illegal assassinations wherever they deem fit, destroy diplomatic facilities protected under international law, and anyone that claims otherwise is a dirty antisemite, khamas, and needs to be killed with a two thousand pounds bomb along with their entire lineage.

Brother, I have in laws in Iran. The regime is a brutal pile of dog turd, but at least they have the decency to just cultural genocide the kurds and not do an actual one.

They aren’t the good guys, they are the smaller pile of shit.
