Donald Trump: Spends every waking minute of his life being a huge piece of shit to basically everyone he crosses paths with

MAGA: Surprised Pikachu Face “I’m starting to think there’s a small chance that Donald Trump might actually not care about me. No that can’t be it. He’s totally going to follow through on his promise to deliver unicorns and fairy dust any minute now.”

It wasn’t even a campaign of caring about others. Like the first stupid 4 years, it was about hurting the “right” people. And they don’t see themselves as the ones who could be hurt, until it’s too late.

if you understand the world to be necessarily a zero sum game, you think the only way to win is eliminate everyone else at the table. these deluded fools are so certain it’s a zero sum game they can’t fathom that this isn’t our goal, too. meanwhile, the left’s proposed solution is to step away from the table. to stop playing. to distribute all the chips in the pot to everyone

He never promised that, though. He promised to rid the land of gnomes, an under appreciated linchpin species. He also promised to reveal who has been pissing in the town well. By doing that, the unicorns and fairy dust would return naturally.

What he didn’t mention was that aggressive deforestation had killed all the unicorns and fairies. And even if they did come back, they’d be shot on sight because an endangered species would halt the deforestation and that’s currently profitable. Once the wildfires take out the rest of the enchanted forest, the townspeople will likely die in agony with their dignity stripped away, but that’ll be profitable, too, if they can convince enough people that their support will put them on the survivor’s side!

Unfortunately, we’ve got a national media landscape that is absolutely choked with reactionary messaging and fascist propaganda.

I can’t really blame a woman way out in West Texas - absolutely swimming in the slurry of AM Radio and right-wing press and arch-conservative religious institutions and social circles - who comes of age thinking that the “Pro-Life Party” actually gives a shit about the lives of young children while the “Far Left Socialist Party” wants to feed your innocent white babies into a Chinese Muslim wood chipper.

Probably doesn’t help when the liberal party that ostensibly represents the state’s enfranchised opposition spends half their time insisting “Actually yes! Immigration and tax cuts and oil drilling and Israel are the things that matter most! Those conservatives are just doing it incorrectly. They should govern more like Andrew Cuomo and Gavin Newsom!”

I’m dreading going into 2026, when the national big topic of conversation is going to be whether George Soros paid ISIS illegal immigrants to install the windmills that caused West Texas 9/11.

It doesn’t matter what he does. The other party ran on look how bad he is and he still won. The strategy of look at the bad stuff he does doesn’t matter when it comes to changing things. It’s just the other side of the outrage profit machine.

The only thing anybody can do is talk about how they will changed it. If that is even possible anymore by using the system and if not, how to change it via organized resistance. (I’m talking French style resistance not a hashtag or changing your profile picture or other online bullshit like that).

Pointing fingers and saying how bad they are or showing the hypocrisy like John Stewart had been doing for decades now. Flat out doesn’t work.

This is literally the opposite of LAMF.

LAMF means supporting someone saying they’ll do a thing, incorrectly assuming they’ll do the thing only to others and not you(r [collective]), without the someone having explicitly stated such.

Then when the thing IS done to you (r collective]) as well, the LAMF is confirmed by them complaining that it was, or acting surprised that it was.

If you support someone when they promise to do something, then they DON’T do it, that’s literally as far from LAMF as you can be.

I think I get what you mean. You’re saying that lying to people saying you are going to help them, them assuming it is true, and then you not doing so doesn’t include the part that it is supposed to hurt others if I understand correctly, right?

So this is just a standard lie of not helping people who thought their community would be safer with this pedophile ring exposed and off the streets.

Yeah, LAMF is the phenomenon of ‘I voted for X to be done, but because I assumed it’d be done to others, not me’.

As in ‘I voted for the Leopards Eating Faces party, but I didn’t expect them to eat MY face!’

A politician not doing what they promised to do is not LAMF.

But, for example, voting for someone because they said they’ll cut funding from wasteful government programs, and then complaining when funding is cut from a wasteful program that you were utilizing, is textbook LAMF.

We play this game every four years. New President, new crisis, new media cycle of people screaming “This is only happening because you voted for the Other Guy!” Congress and the White House change hands, and then we do it all again.

Nobody seems to want to confront the fact that these kids were camped in the middle of a fucking flood plain at the start of Hurricane Season. Or that the constant cuts to state agencies and monitoring services - cuts that have been ongoing since the Nixon Era, under virtually every administration - have degraded our ability to prevent these kinds of tragedies well past the point of a single administration tinkering around the edges of policy.

We all just want to screw our eyes shut and say “Your kids deserved to die because you voted wrong”, which is an fucking insane thing to believe and exactly the kind of magical thinking that got us to this point.

The kids died because they (their Republican parents) voted wrong. The kids died because they didn’t want to spend the money Biden gave them for an alert system on an actual alert system, and instead gave it to the sheriff. The kids died because of Republican cuts to FEMA call centers. The kids died because of profit-seeking psychopaths put the bare minimum (of even that) of cell service in that area. They died because we’ve spent the last 30 years shooting down any kind of climate action legislation.

Those kids died because of Republicans. Full stop.

Their Republican governor and their Republican president gutted their flood warning staff, recently. If they’d received a flood warning they might have left the flat land next to the river and they might not be dead.

So no, Harris wouldn’t have stopped the flood, but she wouldn’t have stopped the flood warning either.

(Also extreme weather events are significantly more frequent due to climate change, and resisting efforts to reduce climate change has been Republican policy for decades.)

This woman changing her vote would have had no effect on the outcome. Hell, the entire state flipping blue would not have changed the results.

Also extreme weather events are significantly more frequent due to climate change

Climate Change doesn’t stop and start with the changing of the US white house. Neither have individual administrations - even the “best” ones - curbed emissions sufficient to keep us under the 1.5C mark.

You’d be more reasonable blaming the flooding on Bush or Obama than Trump or Biden. Hell, you’d be more reasonable blaming Saudi Arabia or China. Even then, you’re getting into “Gays Caused Katrina” territory when you try to blame individual natural disasters on long term environmental trends.

Edit : but yeah, if Harris has won, FEMA wouldn’t have been gutted, the NWS wouldn’t have been gutted. if Harris has won, FEMA wouldn’t have been gutted

FEMA forced to restrict disaster spending because of low funds

                ~ 08/30/2023

The Biden administration has stopped helping states rebuild from past disasters with money from the federal government’s main emergency fund, which is nearing depletion from dozens of storms and wildfires this year.

This has been an ongoing budgetary fight between deficit hawks (of which Biden proudly counted himself a member going back 40 fucking years) and social welfare advocates. Trump took the next big leap in a parade march of staffing reductions and funding cuts. But this has been an ongoing mismanagement since the privatization and downsizing wave that Reagan imposed in the 1980s.

If Harris had won an election that she lost in a landslide, she’d still have to contend with a Congress stuffed with deficit reactionaries on both sides of the aisle. She’d have whined about liberals not handing her Senate Supermajority and then signed whatever John Thune and Mike Johnson put on her desk, just like Biden did.

Singling out scapegoats for a systemic nationwide ideological failure - particularly when they are the weakest and most vulnerable members of society - is the exact same brainworms bullshit that gets people like Trump elected President to begin with.

Might as well blame the flooding on illegal immigration next.

            Both.

Texan kids: See Gov. Abbott denying funds for the systems. And now trying to dodge blame. Not to mention, Texas routinely is anti children.

Palestinian kids: See Abandon Harris and the leftists that either voted Jill Stein or sat out in protests.

And also when I mean if dead kids leads to removal of fascists, I mean a sweeping removal of Trump and down. That included Vance, Massey, MTG, blowjob Boebert, Desantis, Huckabee, Abbott, Bondi, Noem, and so on. If this eventually makes America wake up and remove them ALL then the deaths were not in vain.

So to answer your question, both.
