If we don’t move beyond capitalism in a very short amount of time, we’re not going anywhere, so no need to worry

And we all know that that won’t happen. It never ceases to amaze me that we, as a race, made it so far and discovered so many things that the way we live must seem like magic to our ancestors, if there were to see it. And on the other hand you have so many idiots running around that you lose faith in humankind as a whole.

I don’t think we will make it. We’re still too primitive to grow beyond our deficits.

I don’t think so tbh… The Expanse feels more probable, in its economic and class dynamics. Same old shit you know? We just find (or create…) new peoples to colonize.

This small parcel of human beings who are (at least slightly) sociopathic kinda won out. Thousands of years ago they started out their project, and now they rule the world.

If we don’t destroy capitalism, it will keep doing what it does, reinventing itself so it exists forever.

Okay but the Dune alternative is always worse. Like imagine if your boss didn’t just try to replace you with an algorithm, but your boss was a psychopathic fish who literally couldn’t be replaced or society collapses who was also your feudal lord.

Almost all of this technology would be wonderful if it weren’t for who commands its production and decides what it is used for. capitalist-laugh
