Metro does, but I think it’s more against the cult of personality and dehumanization that comes with illegitimate power structures. The series author has said that the Metro series is based off his emotions living in Russia after the collapse of the Soviet Union, the wave of dehumanization that made slavs split against each other and the rise of shitty leaders using the aesthetic of the old world. I may support Russia on the Ukraine invasion, but Putin (and United Russia as a whole) is a powerplayer reactionary who uses a Soviet aesthetic. I think it’s supposed to be more anti-putin than anti-stalin.

The Metro series is about people glorifying a past that isn’t achievable in the current environment, and how charismatic but ill equiped people will focus on trying to recreate the past instead of trying to create something new. The games may simplify it a bit, but Metro is a pro Soviet series.

These games are all either a handful of explicitly NOT conservative games, military shooters, a couple games that sexualize women, and then just “games I like”.

Red Alert 1 is essentially anti-communist propaganda. Red Dawn but set in Europe and also an RTS.

So the core of their ideology is “I LIKE KILLING THE OTHERFIED LESSERS. I IGNORE EVERYTHING ELSE SAID BECAUSE KILLING THE LESSERS IS THAT EXCITING.” I already knew that, but they’re helpfully pointing it out.

there are literal canon trans characters in touhou

also the “lolis” are just kids, none of them are sexualized or treated sexually in any way in canon material

Aren’t a lot of them maids? Even without the fetishy connotations, isn’t that a sort of cutesy child labor?

Not… really? I can’t think of a kid character who is also canonically a maid, there’s maid fanart of everyone cuz that’s just a popular trendy thing

That’s why I asked. Maybe when I glanced into the fandom and made this face dead-dove-3 what I saw was just thirsty weebs putting the child characters in maid outfits and assumed that was just the standard thing there.

nahh touhou is really cool, the fandom has parts that suck and parts that give you the best friends of your life, stories that are p*do pandering and stories so good that can leave you crying for an hour, it’s immensely huge and a big point of touhou is self expression so you can find basically anything touhou related

if you’re interested I recommend you read this!

                  stories that are p*do pandering

Please tell me that this is just the bad side of the fandom making bad fanart/fanfics and not yet another “this franchise is really good as long as you ignore the creepy parts that are creeping on children” situation.

I would say a third of those games make sense.

Anything WW2, Shooters, and anything 40K related would be my assumptions. I would also throw in Madden. Top of the chud pile would be Call of Duty.

Oddly enough BioShock still has Ayn Rand fans despite the story. Naturally they can’t understand that it is a deconstruction of Ayn Rand. They also say the only reason Rapture failed was because Ryan abandoned his ideals…

hypersus HE DID BECAUSE HE FUCKING HAD TO BECAUSE HE WAS LOSING UNDER HIS IDEALS. That is the entire point of that story. It’s a self contradicting society.

I only vaguely remember but Bioshock 2 was kind of trying to both sides by making the antagonist a collectivist or something. Then Bioshock Infinite was both sidesing racism.

I’ve heard similar libertarian capital-G G!merbros claim that Rapture was perfect until those damn plasmids and maybe Fontaine doing the AnCap shit unfairly.

      anything 40K related

Actually quite funny that they chose Space Marine because one of the universally hated characters in that is your rigidly doctrinaire squad member who refuses to deviate from the words of a 10,000 year old text even when they don’t make sense in the current situation.

They also have Darktide on there which, as much as I’m loving the game, is basically what this graphic is looking for.

You are essentially a penal battalion attached to an inquisitor’s warband purging heretics like zombies from Left4Dead

Sounds pretty conservative to me. They probably hate that character because they are an obstacle to their own goals, but otherwise they agree with that characters philosophy because they do the same thing regarding real world politics.

Did they play Persona 4 and pick the wrong suspect at the end? That game is not sympathetic to their ideology lmao.

Horror can be reactionary but it cannot be conservative. As a genre, horror is defined by its subversive elements. Remove those from a horror game and all that you’re left with is a poorly lit walking simulator.

Yeah. Some zombie fiction is reactionary (there are definitely reactionary elements to The Walking Dead, not my precious beautiful baby boy Telltale game version though!!!) but I wouldn’t call them conservative. Conservatives dont call themselves reactionary though, so you get a conflation. But also Silent Hill 3 and Dino Crisis are both like, actively NOT reactionary or conservative. Also the anti-wokes would hate both if they were released today right like? Heather and Regina would be despised? Not overtly sexualized strong female main characters?
